It was premiere night last night for the final scripted premiere of Summer, NBC's Marlon. It went about as well as expected, with a "fine but nothing great" premiere at 1.3. It held up decently at 9:30, with a 1.0 in that half-hour. Its lead-in was a strong 2.1 from America's Got Talent, which made its Wednesday debut last night. NBC rounded out the night with a 0.6 for a repeat of SVU. Over on CBS, well, at least the first hour had strong ratings. Big Brother continued to dominate pretty much everything else other than AGT, and it was unfazed by it majorly increased competition. Salvation, however, was not unfazed by increased competition (though CMA Fest and Marlon didn't exactly light up the charts). It doubled up and saw another 0.4 when airing at 10. At 9, it was at 0.5. I'd like to remind you that the 0.4 is actually a tenth lower than the rating for a repeat of Criminal Minds, so this is really, really a pathetic datapoint. ABC had a CMA Fest, and it did relatively well, hitting a mediocre 1.0 in its first hour but surging to a 1.5 in its second. Its final average looks like it'll be somewhere around 1.2, which is WAY better than anything that's aired on ABC Wednesday this Summer. On Fox, MasterChef stayed at a disappointing 0.9, while flop newbie The F Word managed to gain a tenth for its (probably series) finale. The CW had repeats, both at 0.2.
Finals Update: MasterChef (+0.1) adjusted up. The F Word (-0.1) adjusted down.
