Marlon: Summer's final scripted premiere was also its highest-rated. Marlon debuted to a solid 1.3 in the demo, with a 1.0 for its second half. While this would have gotten it in the Likely to be Renewed category if it got this on its own, this was with a 2.1 AGT lead-in. The retention for the show wasn't exactly great, but that doesn't mean it's a bad number, either. Until I see more data though, it's only LEANING RENEWAL.
Midnight, Texas: This show was very steady for the first few weeks, but it finally dipped to 0.7 last week. This week, in a really unfortunate situation brought on by a Presidential Address, the show dipped to a 0.6. The show aired in an unusual time slot, so a drop isn't exactly unexpected. However, that doesn't mean that that's a good result. If it doesn't rise from the 0.6, expect a change in forecast for the town of Midnight, Texas. For now, it LEANS RENEWAL.
Salvation: After another disastrous post-BB performance, I've decided to downgrade this show. A 0.5 is positively awful, and Zoo is actually doing better at this point. What's even worse is that it sank even lower, to a 0.4, at 10. This mess would likely sink even lower next year, and CBS knows it. It's CERTAIN TO BE CANCELED.
Even though everything has premiered for the summer, I'll still be back next week for another edition of the Renew/Cancel, and every Tuesday after that for my other Summer predictions.
