Somewhere Between: After a low (but not surprisingly so) debut on Monday night, Somewhere Between dropped to 0.3 in its Tuesday debut. That's horrific, and there's no way to spin that. It lost two tenths from its Blackish REPEAT lead-in, and it was lower than the American Housewife/Middle repeat combo from last week (both at 0.5, building on Blackish). This is awful, and I'd be shocked if it isn't pulled from the schedule soon and shipped off to Saturdays. After all, fellow Summer megaflop Still Star-Crossed has recently vacated the Saturday at 10 slot. This goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway: Somewhere Between is CERTAIN TO BE CANCELED.
The Night Shift: It's been awhile since we've checked in on the Night Shift. And for good reason, it's been doing similar results each week and there's been more important things to talk about. But the show has been doing better and better since its dreadful premiere, and this past episode saw a season high 0.8. However, that 0.8 is still very meh and the show is unowned. I still think there's more of a chance that it gets canceled than not, but its chances look better with each uptick, so it now LEANS CANCELLATION.
Salvation & Zoo: Last week, I said I may consider changing the status of one of these shows due to CBS having a rough Summer sans-Big Brother. Well, Salvation fell a tenth this week and Zoo stayed at 0.5, so I really don't think either will have a particularly strong case for renewal. I can't see CBS being that desperate, so for that reason, both still are LIKELY CANCELLATIONS. Zoo should thank its lucky stars it even got to this point, while Salvation likely will be staying a Summer (non)event series.
