Ratings Analysis: Class was back in session for students at Abbott Elementary (0.48), and attendance was still rather high despite the extended break. The acclaimed ABC comedy was down just 13% from its April 2023 finale (0.55) and topped the 9 p.m. hour for its 1-hour premiere. At 8, The Conners (0.41) was only a little lower than its May 2023 closer (0.45) but more than a full tenth below its Sept. 2022 premiere (0.53). In-between the two, Not Dead Yet (0.32) was passable enough in its move to the 8:30 slot and put up a performance that was fairly similar to spring 2023 Goldbergs. After the comedies, Judge Steve Harvey (0.20) crashed to a new series low for its first episode in the 10 p.m. time slot. On NBC, Chicago Med (0.51, +0.04) bounced back, Fire (0.47, -0.02) dipped, and PD (0.46, 0.00) held steady. The Price Is Right At Night (0.49, -0.01) shed a hundredth on CBS when compared to last Wednesday, but Let's Make a Deal Primetime (0.27, -0.10) lost a full tenth against the Abbott premiere. On Fox, I Can See Your Voice (0.19, -0.06) dropped to a new series low and seemed to be hurt by its We Are Family lead-out (0.15) going into repeat mode. On the CW, Wild Cards (0.08, +0.03) surged, while Family Law (0.05, 0.00) tied its week-ago episode.
