Ratings Analysis: One week after its Super Bowl-fueled debut, CBS drama Tracker (0.46, -3.48) appeared healthier than ever in its time slot premiere. Retention was also incredibly strong here as Tracker was just two-hundredths away from the season premiere of The Equalizer (0.48) that led into it. CSI: Vegas (0.26) dropped the ball at 10 as far as retention goes but was on-par with its delivery from last season. In the 7 p.m. hour, 60 Minutes (0.45, -0.12) declined enough that ABC's AFV (0.46, +0.19) was able to slip past it. From there, the alphabet network aired the premieres of American Idol (0.55) and What Would You Do? (0.32). Idol was down slightly from last year's start, while What Would You Do? was close to its last showings from back in summer 2020. Over on Fox, the network debuted a revamped animation block that will have to do without football inflation, and it was already a complete disaster. The Simpsons (0.18, -1.62), Krapopolis (0.11, -0.21), The Great North (0.10, -0.12), and Grimsburg (0.09, -0.48) all crashed to new series lows, with the latter two losing out to The CW's broadcast of Remember the Titans (0.11). NBC got a very healthy rating out of the People's Choice Awards (0.46).
Finals Update: 2024 People's Choice Awards (+0.2), America's Funniest Home Videos (+0.1), and Tracker (+0.1) adjusted up.
