Weakest Link Moving to Fox, Fear Factor Revival and 99 to Beat Also Ordered

Fox has ordered a trio of new unscripted series for next season - one moving from NBC, one revival of a different NBC series, and one adaptation of a British game show.

Weakest Link, the game show which aired as recently as last summer on NBC, will move to Fox next season. Jane Lynch will remain the host, but the show will see a format shakeup, switching from civilian contestants to celebrity contestants. The NBC version had special celebrity episodes, including WWE and Days of Our Lives-themed shows, but the Fox continuation will strictly feature celebrities moving forward, as it is retitled Celebrity Weakest Link.

Fear Factor: The Next Chapter is a revival of the series that has had three previous iterations. Fear Factor had two separate runs on NBC, first running six seasons and then being revived for a single season, all hosted by Joe Rogan and airing between 2001 and 2012. It was later revived at MTV for a two-season run in 2017, hosted by rapper Ludacris. That run ended in 2018.

Game show 99 to Beat is based on a Belgian series that premiered in 2018, and has been subsequently adapted in France, Brazil, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. Similar to the Floor, it features 100 contestants facing off against one another over the course of an entire season, going head-to-head in simple and amusing challenges, where the last-place contestant in each challenge is eliminated from the game, with the challenges growing more complex as the season progresses. Ken Jeong and Erin Andrews will host.

These pickups come days after renewals for hit game show The Floor and rookie reality series Extracted.
