The summer season continues to heat up, with several new entries joining the fray this week, including the series that were held over from the regular season, a classic summer staple, and NBC's latest unscripted launch!

All American Renewed for Final Season by CW

The last remaining scripted series from a bygone era of The CW is coming to an end in the near future. All American the football drama that premiered in 2018 and saw a massive cast overhaul for its recent seventh season, has been renewed for an eighth and final season by the CW. All American was one of four scripted series on the CW to survive the network's acquisition by Nexstar in 2022. Its spinoff, All American: Homecoming, and Walker were both canceled last season, while Superman & Lois aired its final season in late 2024. Ratings for the CW have fallen off a cliff in recent seasons, with All American averaging just 0.05 this season - enough to be the network's #3 scripted series. The series only entered negotiations for an eighth season within the last month or so, which prompted the announcement to be delayed past the traditional May timeline for renewals. The final season will run for thirteen episodes, the same number as its seventh season, set to air in 2026. This is a miss for The TV Ratings Guide, which had listed the series as "leans cancellation" in our most recent CW Renew/Cancel column.
