TV's #1 returning comedy has set its end. After twelve seasons on the air, The Big Bang Theory will end with its upcoming season, as announced today by CBS. The series has been one of the highest-rated shows on TV for much of its run, and is by far CBS's #1 comedy. It leads their banner Thursday night comedy block. During its run, The Big Bang Theory has spawned a hit spinoff, its Thursday night counterpart series Young Sheldon. While there has been speculation for some time that the series would soon end, that was never confirmed until now. Throughout its lengthy run, The Big Bang Theory has collected over forty Emmy nominations, including four wins for star Jim Parsons. Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, Mayim Bialik, Melissa Rauch, and Kunal Nayyar round out the main cast.
