Sunday TV Ratings 8/2/20: NBA Gives ABC an Easy Win, Fridge Wars and Taskmaster Launch Low (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: Sunday night ratings livened up a bit as ABC brought back the NBA, broadcasting the 'Bucks v. Rockets' game (0.8). It easily surpassed what the game show lineup managed for their last originals and topped all other offerings. The alphabet network had a sturdy 'AFV' repeat (0.6) and an 'NBA Countdown' special (0.5) before the game.

CBS's '60 Minutes' (0.6) enjoyed a two-tenth rise after last week's middling outing but a repeat of 'Tough As Nails' that followed (0.3) shed half of that audience. Repeats of 'NCIS: Los Angeles' (0.3) and 'NCIS: New Orleans' (0.3) were able to match 'Nails'. NBC had a steady 'Cannonball' (0.3) and repeats of 'Titan Games' and 'AGT' (0.3/0.3).

Fox had the exact same ratings as last week for their sitcom repeats. As usual, 'Duncanville' (0.1) stuck out like a sore thumb while 'Simpsons', 'Bob's', and 'Family Guy' (0.3/0.3/0.3) posted halfway decent results. 'Bless The Harts' (0.2) and 'Last Man Standing' (0.2) were below the longtime veterans. And the CW housed the series premieres of 'Fridge Wars' (0.1) and 'Taskmaster' (0.1) but couldn't get ratings any stronger than what repeats would usually do.

Finals Update: NBA: Bucks v. Rockets (+0.1) and Cannonball (+0.1) adjusted up. NBA Countdown (-0.1) and the repeat of America's Funniest Home Videos (-0.1) adjusted down.
