CBS said goodbye to already-canceled Training Day (0.3) as it remained steady with its last original outing sandwiched between a repeat of NCIS: New Orleans (0.3) and a below-average 48 Hours (0.4).

NBC easily won the night with their combination of Hockey (0.8) and SNL Vintage (0.8).

FOX's baseball game (0.5) was a bit above what repeats would do on the night.

ABC aired repeats of American Housewife (0.3) and Downward Dog (0.3) leading into 2 hours of 20/20 (0.5/0.5).

Training Day Officially Canceled by CBS

This piece of news seems to be simply a formality. First season drama Training Day has been canceled by CBS. This is surprising to absolutely nobody, as the series has been faced with incredibly anemic ratings, the death of lead Bill Paxton, and a move to Saturdays. The ill-fated series aired in the seemingly cursed Thursdays at 10 slot, which housed fellow flop drama Pure Genius this season. Training Day was pulled from the schedule and replaced by The Amazing Race after six episodes. After that, it made the move to Saturdays, where it struggled to make a name for itself. This was a correct prediction for the TV Ratings Guide. Here are the ratings for the show before the move to Saturday:

ABC took a break from basketball to air Pixar's Monsters University (0.5) and a repeat of 20/20 (0.4). Both significantly trailed what an average game would perform.

NBC's Hockey (1.1) topped the night and led into SNL Vintage (0.9), the latter was a bit higher than usual thanks to the stronger lead-in.

CBS's Training Day (0.3) and 48 Hours (0.6) were both steady at 9 and 10 respectively while a 48 Hours repeat (0.4) occupied the 8 pm slot.

FOX had low-rated repeats of MasterChef Junior (0.2/0.3).

ABC's Warriors at Jazz game (1.5) was the clear winner on the broadcast landscape. Even the Countdown special (0.9) managed to beat out the majority of offerings on the other three networks.

NBC's Hockey game (1.2) came in a close second, posting a very respectable result. Hockey lead into SNL Vintage (0.8) which performed about the same as it usually does.

FOX benched their anemic repeats in favor of Baseball (0.6), it went well below the sports offerings on the other networks, but it was still double what an average repeat does on the night.

CBS was the only network without sports as they continued to air out low-rated Training Day (0.3). The drama was steady with its last outing. Training Day was sandwiched between a repeat of NCIS (0.3) and an original 48 Hours (0.6).
