Bachelor in Paradise's hiatus will be short-lived. The long-running Bachelor spinoff, which was put on hold this year after sharp declines its ninth season in 2023, has been renewed for a tenth season. ABC has not yet confirmed when the tenth season will air, but the show was traditionally a summertime staple, airing its first seven seasons after The Bachelorette wrapped for the season and ending just before the start of the fall season. In season eight, it moved in-season, following Dancing with the Stars' move to Disney+, and it stayed in the fall the next season due to the SAG and WGA strikes, which caused ABC to have its first-ever scripted-free lineup. That season averaged 0.34, a performance below the league average and a decline of 38% from the prior season. Following a late premiere for The Bachelorette caused by the NBA Finals and the Stanley Cup, as well as the premiere of new spinoff The Golden Bachelorette, Bachelor in Paradise missed the lineup for ABC this year, but will return in 2025.

Thursday TV Ratings 10/19/23: ABC Leads Coverage of President Biden’s Address, The Golden Bachelor Drops, The Challenge: USA Rises for Finale (UPDATED)
Ratings Analysis: Coverage of President Biden's address took over the 8 p.m. time slot for the majority of the broadcast networks. ABC led the way in both the Adults 18-49 demographic and in total viewership (0.45 rating/4.65 million). CBS (0.41 rating/3.46 million) took second in the ratings but lost to NBC (0.33 rating/3.57 million) in total viewership. After the address, ABC series 'The Golden Bachelor' (0.45, -0.03) shed a few ticks, while 'Bachelor in Paradise' (0.34, 0.00) tied its week-ago episode. CBS followed the address with 'Buddy Games' (0.28, +0.02), 'Big Brother' (0.50, +0.03), and the finale of 'The Challenge: USA' (0.29, +0.05). All three were up from last week's installments, and the gains actually got bigger as the night went on. Post-Biden, NBC aired a repeat of 'Law & Order: SVU' (0.15), a fading 'Transplant' (0.13, -0.06), and 'Dateline' (0.18). Fox staple 'Hell's Kitchen' (0.33, +0.01) gained a hundredth, but 'LEGO Masters' (0.22, 0.00) could only match last week's outing. The CW offered up reruns of 'Penn & Teller: Fool Us' (0.07) and 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' (0.04/0.04).
Finals Update: 'Big Brother' (+0.1) adjusted up. 'Transplant' (-0.1) and the 9 PM repeat of 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' (-0.1) adjusted down.
Thursday TV Ratings 10/12/23: Transplant Has Weak Return, Big Brother and Hell’s Kitchen Slip, The Golden Bachelor Leads (UPDATED)
Ratings Analysis: Medical drama 'Transplant' (0.19) made its return on NBC by losing to both the 'Law & Order: SVU' rerun (0.22) that led into it and the repeat of 'Dateline' (0.21) that aired after it. Though this rating is a good bit higher than its July 2022 finale (0.13), it is far from a solid number. On CBS, 'Buddy Games' (0.26, -0.06) and 'Big Brother' (0.47, -0.10) completely collapsed, but 'The Challenge: USA' (0.24, 0.00) tied its week-ago installment. 'Hell's Kitchen' (0.32, -0.05) lost some ground on Fox, but 'Lego Masters' (0.22, +0.01) actually picked up a hundredth. On ABC, 'The Golden Bachelor' (0.48, -0.09) took a bigger hit in week three than it did in week two but was still the night's highest-rated program. 'Bachelor in Paradise' (0.34, -0.02) shed two-hundredths in the 9 p.m. time slot. The CW aired encores of 'Son of a Critch' (0.04/0.03), 'Run the Burbs' (0.04), and 'Children Ruin Everything' (0.03).
Finals Update: 'Bachelor in Paradise' (-0.1) and 'Transplant' (-0.1) adjusted down, as did repeats of 'Law & Order: SVU' (-0.1) and 'Dateline NBC' (-0.1).
Tuesday TV Ratings 8/21/18: Beat Shazam Ticks Up, Bachelor In Paradise Rises from Last Tuesday (UPDATED)
Finals Update: Beat Shazam (+0.1) adjusted up. Making It (-0.1) adjusted down.
