Below are the Week 19 renew/cancel predictions for the Fox network in the 2023-24 television season. The numbers listed in the table mark the Nielsen rating low, average, and high for each respective program in the Adults 18-49 demographic. The "Y2Y (year-to-year) Change" column denotes how much the series has risen or fallen when compared to its average from the previous season. Because of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, there is a limited amount of scripted programming this winter. As a result, reality television will continue to be included in this column. Now that more scripted programming is set to return soon, scripted and reality will be split into two separate charts.
Next Level Chef: Next Level Chef is a series that Fox feels the need to provide with as much NFL help as possible. Fox gave it the post-NFC Championship slot in 2022 and upped the ante in 2023 by handing it the coveted post-Super Bowl slot. This time around, Fox once more placed the program after the NFC Championship and got a 2.15 rating out of its third-season premiere. This is a clear step down from how it performed in this slot two years prior (2.59), but the decline is not meaningful enough to cause any real alarm. When the dust settled and Chef arrived in its time-period home, it put together a healthy 0.38 rating in the Adults 18-49 demographic. This is actually three-hundredths above its time slot premiere from 2023 (0.35), so it's possible that all that football boosting has paid off. This Gordon Ramsay offering is one that Fox has prioritized for two years now, and it is doing more than enough to get by. Next Level Chef has already been Renewed for a fourth season and will remain in Fox's good graces if it continues posting ratings in the solid 0.35-0.40 range.
Farmer Wants a Wife: Farmer Wants a Wife returned with a modest 0.26 rating in the Adults 18-49 demographic and retained a little less than 70% of its Next Level Chef lead-in. This is a pretty tepid start for Farmer. It's an incredibly inoffensive and unremarkable performance, but it's not alarmingly bad per se. The hold in week two will provide a better picture of how this show is doing. For now, it's a shaky Likely Renewal. This is probably one of the weaker reality players currently airing on Fox, but it's starting out a tier above stuff like LEGO Masters and TMZ Investigates.
