ABC Picks Up Goldbergs Reboot, Starring Anthony Anderson, Chris Rock and Will Smith

Did ABC's 2013-23 run feel taxed, saddening and exhausting as the show disintegrated the last two years?  ABC recognized this and is handling the matter appropriately.  They shall give the ruined show a proper time to rest, then shall spam the same formula in fall 2023.  The genius concept is ABC has opted to update the cast to be with it and has Anthony Anderson headlining as Murray Goldberg.  Jada Pinkertt-Smith has signed on to reinvent Beverly Goldberg, right down to retiring that huge fried hair for something more sensible.  Perhaps this is a stretch as Pinkett-Smith is better skilled at dramatic delivery over slapstick farce.

Blue Bloods Renewed for Season 14

CBS continues to solidify its schedule for next season, as another show with a previously-outstanding fate has received a renewal. Blue Bloods, CBS's Friday at 10 staple, is the latest show to get the green light for another season, leaving just three shows on the Tiffany Network that are yet to be renewed or canceled. Cast contracts are what held up the renewal for the solidly-rated Blue Bloods, with its cast agreeing to pay cuts in order to secure a fourteenth season. With NCIS: Los Angeles on its way out this season, Blue Bloods is now CBS's second-longest-running scripted series, only behind NCIS. The show has remained a reliable ratings performer for CBS over the years, this year drawing a 0.40 in the key 18-49 demo and regularly drawing one of the largest audiences on Friday nights. Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes and Len Cariou lead the cast and have since its debut in 2010. This is a correct prediction for The TV Ratings Guide.

Grey’s Anatomy Renewed for Season 20

One of broadcast TV's longest-running series will extend its historic run, as ABC has renewed Grey's Anatomy for another season. The series is the longest-running primetime medical drama in history, and will ring in its milestone twentieth season next year. Though the series saw numerous new ratings lows this year, dropping 28% to a 0.46 average, it is still a strong linear and digital performer for ABC, ranking as their #4 series and #2 drama in there key 18-49 L+SD demographic. The series made headlines earlier this year when Ellen Pompeo, who portrayed the series' titular lead character Meredith Grey, exited the series after nineteen seasons as its leading lady. James Pickens Jr. and Chandra Wilson are the only original stars remaining on the series now, and appear alongside Kevin McKidd, Kim Raver, Camilla Luddington and Caterina Scorsone, among others. This is a correct prediction for The TV Ratings Guide.

NBC Renew/Cancel Week 18: Grand Crew Gets the Grand Slam

The NBC Renew/Cancel is back after a week off with some further dissection of NBC's disastrous Friday comedy lineup, in light of some recent unfortunate ratings. Keep reading for a prediction update and my reasoning for why one of these shows remains a good bet for renewal.

Alert: Missing Persons Unit and Accused Renewed by Fox

Fox is handing second-season renewals to both of its midseason drama entries this season, as they have announced renewals for Alert: Missing Persons Unit and Accused. Both dramas had NFL-assisted premieres, an early sign of support from the network. Alert aired behind Fantasy Island on Mondays, and tried its best to hold its own in spite of a week lead-in. It ultimately averaging 0.25 for its Monday run, a few hundredths ahead of Fantasy Island. Accused enjoyed much more favorable circumstances, airing behind Fox's #2 drama, 9-1-1: Lone Star. Despite a solid start, it dropped quickly and averaged 0.29 behind Lone Star's 0.49. While neither show was a breakout for Fox, they both performed markedly better than fall bomb Monarch, and rate towards the middle of Fox's programming crop. Alert stars Scott Caan, Dania Ramirez and Ryan Broussard, while Accused is an anthology series with a rotating cast that featured names such as Margo Martindale, Michael Chiklis and Whitney Cummings in its inaugural season. Both shows are correct predictions for The TV Ratings Guide.
