Saturday TV Ratings 2/24/24: Saturday Night Live Jumps with Host Shane Gillis, NBA Leads Primetime, 48 Hours Rises (Final Ratings w/Analysis)

Ratings Analysis: Comedian Shane Gillis made his Saturday Night Live debut after being fired from the show in 2019, and the ratings clearly benefited. SNL (0.76, +0.11) picked up more than a full tenth in the Adults 18-49 demographic and gave NBC a Saturday night win in that key demographic. ABC's Celtics v. Knicks NBA game (0.52) came the closest to SNL but was still more than two-tenths below it. College basketball on Fox (0.19) was abysmal, while college basketball on the CW (0.06) was passable by the network's low standards. 48 Hours (0.26, +0.03) climbed higher on CBS.
