Just days after the premiere of its third season, ABC has renewed breakout comedy Abbott Elementary for a fourth season. The series returned only slightly down after its strike-extended hiatus, with a strong 0.48 in the ratings, enough to make it by far the highest-rated comedy on the air up to this point (Young Sheldon, Ghosts, and The Neighborhood, which bested it last season, have yet to premiere). The Wednesday night comedies are the only scripted shows to premiere on ABC thus far, but it does currently rank #1 among ABC's scripted programs, a title it also held last season. The show is an even bigger deal in streaming, a metric that ABC has been quick to brag about, stating that the series more than doubles its audience in L+SD multiplatform viewing. The show has also been critically acclaimed, winning Emmys for stars Quinta Brunson and Sheryl Lee Ralph and earning two nominations for Best Comedy Series. Janelle James, Lisa Ann Walter, Tyler James Williams, Chris Perfetti and William Stanford Davis round out the show's principal cast. This is a correct prediction for The TV Ratings Guide.
In addition to this renewal, ABC also renewed unscripted series Celebrity Family Feud, Jeopardy! Masters, and The Bachelorette today, and have ordered The Golden Bachelorette, a spinoff of fall breakout The Golden Bachelor.
