Animal Control Renewed For Third Season

Ahead of its season two premiere, Fox has decided to gift the Joel McHale sitcom Animal Control with a third season renewal. The series was a modest performer in the Adults 18-49 demographic during its first season, averaging a 0.25 rating overall. However, that was enough to beat out fellow live-action comedies like Call Me Kat and Welcome to Flatch during the 2022-2023 television season. The sitcom stars the aforementioned McHale, Michael Rowland, Grace Palmer, Vella Lovell, and Ravi Patel.

The second season of Animal Control is set to debut on March 6, 2024, with the series soon to be sandwiched between high-profile staples like The Masked Singer and Family Guy. Fox has previously touted the program's strong performance on streaming services, claiming just last year that the series had become their most-streamed scripted debut in the network's history. Fox is no stranger to handing out renewals before the new season of a series begins, but the practice is usually reserved for reality and animation. Since Animal Control is Fox-owned and the lone live-action sitcom on the network, it is clearly a program that the network wants to keep around.
