Fred: CEO

Kevin: CFO

Gregory: General Manager

Christina: Director of Marketing & Promotions

Ruthie: Project Manager

OPEN: Boardroom at SugarCity headquarters.

FRED

We need ideas, and fast. Start of a new year. New year, new us.

GREGORY

Actually I’d say it’s the same us.

FRED

New CEO though. Albert’s gone, I’m in, and we need a product that’ll get people buying SugarCity’s candy. Ideas?

RUTHIE

I already said my idea.

FRED

Ruthie, I know you’ve been with us longer than anyone else, but seniority does not mean we can just go full steam ahead on Baby Ruthies.

RUTHIE

Why not?

FRED

Lawsuits.

RUTHIE

Lawyer up.

FRED

We’d lose. We’d get crushed, actually.

KEVIN

Oh! I have a good one! The Gross Profit Bar!

FRED

Uh…explain?

KEVIN

People value transparency. We’re making this for profits, so why not just tell them?

FRED

I don’t think we should make candy with the word gross in it. Plus, then we’re limiting the market to stressed out CFOs.

KEVIN

Fine, The Net Profit Bar works too I guess.

FRED

Eh…

KEVIN

Revenue Bar?

FRED

Does this even have to have the word bar in it? Come on guys, let’s think big.

RUTHIE

What’s your big idea?

FRED

I wanted to ask the room first.

RUTHIE

So what’s your idea?

FRED

SUGAR.

RUTHIE

That’s it? SUGAR?

FRED

It’s an acronym. Super Under Ground Amazing Rad.

GREGORY

Super? Are you kidding me?

CHRISTINA

As the Director of Marketing & Promotions, can I get a word in? Actually, why am I asking it, I’m gonna get a word in. Let’s mix up SUGAR and make it an anagram. Then people will wonder what exactly it is and try it out of curiosity.

FRED

I like where you’re going with this. Just, uh…

CHRISTINA

An anagram is when you mix up the letters of the word to make up a new word.

GREGORY

Let’s try it.

KEVIN

I got GUARS.

RUTHIE

I also got GAURS. G-a-u-r-s.

KEVIN

Mine’s g-u-a-r-s.

CHRISTINA

Those are both out, we can’t have something that’s hard to pronounce or spell.

GREGORY

Only one left that I can find is AGRUS.

FRED

What do we think? AGRUS?

CHRISTINA

I like it.

KEVIN

Me too.

GREGORY

I suggested it so so do I.

RUTHIE

Baby Ruthie for me.

FRED

ARGUS it is. Should we focus group it?

CHRISTINA

Of course we’re gonna focus group it, what do you think this is?

FRED

Just asking. Let’s plan on starting that up soon. In the mean time, go enjoy your weekend.
