CBS Schedulogy: Final Fall 2026 Schedule Prediction

Due to an incredibly close championship matchup between Ghosts and CIA with votes continuing to come in, we have extended voting for CBS Renew/Cancel March Madness for another week. Voting is now open until Sunday, April 19. The winner will be announced on that day's CBS Renew/Cancel, where CBS's fall 2026 schedule will be discussed. If you have not already, you can vote here.

Before CBS announces their fall 2026 schedule on Wednesday, April 15, below is one final CBS Schedulogy, predicting the schedule and followed by an analysis. Let us know what you think in the comments!

Monday - It's possible the only night of the week that sees any changes from spring 2026 to fall 2026 is Monday. This comes with CBS's new drama, Einstein, taking over the 8 pm hour for the canceled comedy hour. DMV and Einstein were ordered in one swoop in April 2025, making it ironic that the latter may replace the former on the schedule. FBI holds onto the 9 pm time slot, if only to provide a compatible lead-in to CIA at 10.

Tuesday - With all three NCISes renewed, it's incredibly unlikely they break the franchise apart given the already-lackluster ratings for the spinoffs (especially NCIS: Sydney).

Wednesday - Since there haven't been any indications otherwise, it can only be assumed both Survivor and The Amazing Race will remain 90 minute programs next season. That limits CBS's options for Wednesday nights, as even if they wanted to try out a comedy after Survivor, they'd have a 90-minute Amazing Race in need of scheduling elsewhere. Sandwiching a comedy in between a 90-minute Survivor and 60-minute The Amazing Race is an outside possibility.

Thursday - With how advantageous it is for shows to air at 8 pm, it's much more likely CBS plugs Einstein (or Cupertino) into the already-open Mondays at 8 pm time slot, than goes out of their way to move one of the Thursday dramas there and premiere Einstein at a later Thursday hour. It's a possibility, but stronger signals point toward Thursday remaining the same. With no Monday comedy hour, the Thursday comedy block is also likely to remain intact.

Friday - With Sheriff Country working well enough at 8 pm (especially in total viewership), it's unlikely CBS touches Fridays. Boston Blue having nowhere to go and CBS wanting to keep both Country shows together will likely save Fire Country from time slot downgrade conversations, though a Marshals | Sheriff Country | Fire Country lineup on Sundays in the spring could be tempting if not for having to relocate Tracker.

Sunday - Fall sees Marshals and Tracker stick together on Sundays, airing respectively at 8:30 and 9:30 pm on nights CBS gets the late afternoon NFL game, and 8 and 9 pm when they do not. Splitting up the two shows would likely benefit the overall schedule, but with how much CBS renewed, there are few places to put either to use.

Midseason - Drama Cupertino from Robert and Michelle King joins the schedule midseason, almost certainly with a launch behind the AFC Championship Game before settling into a time slot on Sundays. That time slot will be announced as 10 pm on the schedule, but could become 9 pm as it comes closer to premiering. It's a tactic they used with both Watson and Marshals (from 9 pm to 8 pm).

2027-28 - While vampire comedy Eternally Yours from the creatives behind Ghosts was ordered to series this past week, there is no clear-cut spot for it on the 2026-27 schedule. Even if they pick up a fourth comedy or plug in Hollywood Squares to fill in a fourth comedy slot, that leaves a drama without a time slot. If Eternally Yours gets pushed to 2027-28, it would be the third straight year CBS made such a move, the others being Sheriff Country in 2024 and Einstein in 2025. It's just as likely, if not more likely, that CBS saw the pilot and decided they wanted to have it on their schedule at some point, as it is that they had an active time slot open for a third comedy and ordered Eternally Yours to fill it. With Ghosts about to enter its sixth season, it's not surprising they ordered this to series, whether it airs in 2026-27 or not. My prediction is it will not.
