FADE IN:

EXT. BEVERLY HILLS SKYLINE - DAY

A suburban area is situated near Los Angeles. Cars are buzzing everywhere.

EXT. NINTH STREET - DAY

A car drives along Ninth Street.

INT. CAR - DAY

Noah is driving the car with Jack in the passenger side. Jack turns to Noah, after contemplating over decisions over living space.

JACK
We need to get out of Beverly Hills.

NOAH
May I suggest why?

JACK
I need a break. Better yet, I need a change of pace. This town is too draining for energy’s sake.

NOAH
I feel you.

Jack nods.

EXT. APARTMENT BUILDING - DAY

A shabby looking apartment building sits in the middle of downtown Beverly Hills, California.

The parking lot is unusually full with movers going in and out.

INT. MIKE’S APARTMENT LIVING ROOM - DAY

Here in the living room of Mike’s apartment, we have Mike, Mark, and Jill sitting together in the living room.

Mike is pacing back and forth, incessantly.

Jill, puzzled, turns to Mike.

JILL
Nervous about the results, Mike?

MIKE
It’s an important day for me. I hope to have good news.

MARK
It would be likely that happens, you know.

JILL
(to MARK)
With my younger sister, Kasey, now in college, things are looking up for us.

MIKE
(to JILL)
Jillian, I did not know you had a sister.

JILL
(grumpily)
It’s Jill, Michael. Get that right.

Mike shrugs. Suddenly the phone rings.

Mike picks up the phone.

Jill and Mark then turn towards each other as one of them sit on the sofa.

INT. CAR - DAY

We continue on with Jack and Noah’s conversation.

Jack then turns back towards Noah.

JACK
Shall we go on a comedy tour to get the rent money?

NOAH
That’s what I was thinking.

Jack turns back towards the road.

EXT. MANSION - DAY

The car pulls into Peter’s house in Malibu.

Jack and Noah get out of the car.

INT. FRONT DOOR ENTRANCE - DAY

The door opens, and Jack and Noah discover an angry Peter with his arms crossed.

PETER
Boys, we need to talk.

Jack and Noah turn towards each other in complete silence.

INT. MIKE’S APARTMENT LIVING ROOM - DAY

Back in Mike’s apartment, Mike gets off the phone.

MIKE
My show got picked up! My show got picked up!

Mike, Jill, and Mark then jump for joy. They hug each other.

MARK
Maybe we can all get out of this shabby apartment!

On next week’s Writer’s Block, we will pick up with Jack and Noah’s confrontation with Uncle Peter. We also will find out where Mike’s new show gets placed on the schedule.
