FADE IN:

EXT. COFFEE SHOP - DAY

A hip coffee shop sits on the outskirts of Beverly Hills.

A car parks parallel to the coffee shop.

INT. COFFEE SHOP - DAY

Jack and Noah sit in the coffee shop sipping on coffee and jotting down writing ideas on their notepads.

Suddenly, Will comes into the coffee shop.

Jill, in the middle of her shift, greets Will.

Will then orders a standard latte with almond milk.

Jill then furiously makes the coffee for Will.

Will then sits where Jack and Noah sit with their notepads.

WILL
I have an idea guys!

NOAH
Let’s hear it out.

Jack then writes as Will tells his idea.

JACK
Family sitcom, check...now…

WILL
We can’t just talk about identities of characters. We have to go beyond the stereotype.

NOAH
Many characters can identify their sexual orientation without all the stereotypes.

Jack continues writing down on his notepad.

Jill brings Will his drink.

JILL
I’ve made sure your drink is not too hot, Will.

WILL
Thanks, Jill!

Will then sips away.

EXT. APARTMENT BUILDING - DAY

A shabby looking apartment sits in the middle of downtown Beverly Hills, California.

INT. APARTMENT BUILDING HALLWAY - DAY

The hallway is mostly empty, except for a door opening.

The apartment with the open door is Mike’s apartment.

INT. MIKE’S APARTMENT LIVING ROOM - DAY

Mike is sitting on the sofa tweaking away.

All of a sudden, Mark enters the scene.

Mike turns to Mark.

Mark crosses his arms.

MARK
What’s your favor to ask me?

MIKE
I wanted to ask you if you know any network executive friends.

MARK
James. His father works as head of development.

MIKE
Next time you see James, tell him to set me up with him.

Puzzled, Mark nods.

Mike then crosses his arms.

He then gets up.

MIKE (CONT'D)
Come on, man! I need connections.

MARK
I’ll call James. I’ll see what he says.

Mike sighs, relieved.

INT. COFFEE SHOP - DAY

Will, Jack, and Noah are still gathered together in the coffee shop.

NOAH
This is a great idea, Will!

WILL
Whaddaya mean?

JACK
We got character development, we have a premise, now we can get to work on some scripts.

WILL
I’m in. Let’s do this.

The three of them each shake hands.

Next week, we will find out whether Mike’s show gets ordered to series or not.
