Ratings Analysis: LEGO Masters (0.19) had a soft landing on Fox, but America's Most Wanted (0.16) bested last Monday's installment. On NBC, The Voice (0.36, +0.15) clearly benefited from the absence of Idol, and Yes, Chef! (0.19, +0.07) was also up markedly. Bad Romance (0.19, +0.11) climbed higher on ABC, but Paradise (0.12/0.09) was down from last week (0.13). On CBS, The Price Is Right At Night (0.33, +0.10) gained a full tenth. Reruns of Wild Cards (0.03) and Family Law (0.01) aired on the CW. Key: (P) = premiere. (R) = repeat. (F) = finale.

Monday TV Ratings 5/12/25: The Voice Continues Downward Plunge, American Idol Easily Leads Broadcast, NBA Playoff Game Tops Cable [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: The Voice (0.21, -0.03) went even lower on NBC, with the former juggernaut losing to CBS's Price Is Right At Night (0.23). Yes, Chef! (0.12, -0.04) also lost a few ticks. American Idol (0.43, +0.04) and Paradise (0.13, +0.03) beat their week-ago installments on ABC. America's Most Wanted: Missing Persons (0.12, -0.02) was down for its Fox finale, but the original America's Most Wanted (0.14, +0.04) gained momentum. The CW aired repeats of Wild Cards (0.03) and Family Law (0.02). Key: (R) = repeat. (F) = finale.

Wednesday TV Ratings 1/8/25: Shifting Gears Off to an Excellent Start, Abbott Elementary Hits Series High in a Regular Slot with Always Sunny Crossover, Raid the Cage Returns Above-Average [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: Though Tuesday night's dramas were already strong, ABC's ratings got even bigger on Wednesday night as Tim Allen sitcom Shifting Gears debuted with a massive 0.66 in the Adults 18-49 demographic. To put things into perspective, this rating goes above every episode of the final season of Last Man Standing, Allen's previous effort that ended nearly four years ago. The news only got better from there as Abbott Elementary (0.68, +0.29) built on its lead-in for the highly-publicized It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia crossover event. Outside of the post-Oscars episode, this serves as Abbott's best performance ever. The premiere of Celebrity Jeopardy! (0.41) and What Would You Do? (0.25) tapered off from there but were still at respectable levels. On NBC, Chicago Med (0.45, +0.05) and Chicago PD (0.38, +0.04) rose, while Chicago Fire (0.42, 0.00) held steady. Raid the Cage (0.31) held onto a solid amount of The Price Is Right At Night's rating (0.37) in its CBS premiere. On Fox, Special Forces: World's Toughest Test (0.29/0.29) was up from its November 2023 finale (0.24) in its return. On the CW, Inside the NFL (0.04, -0.01) dropped from a Penn & Teller rerun (0.06). Key: (P) = premiere. (R) = repeat.

Tuesday TV Ratings 12/24/24: It’s a Wonderful Life Down from 2023, Home Alone Dominates, The Price Is Right At Night Low [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: On Christmas Eve, ABC's broadcast of Home Alone (0.63) topped the night and was only down a tiny bit from last year (0.65). NBC's showing of It's a Wonderful Life (0.37) placed second in the 8 p.m. time slot, dropping more from its 2023 airing (0.42) than Home Alone did. CBS aired Christmas with Andrea Bocelli and Friends (0.18), an uncharacteristically weak Price Is Right At Night (0.20), and a repeat of Nate Bargatze's Nashville Christmas (0.18). Fox re-aired LEGO Masters: Celebrity Holiday Bricktacular (0.11). WWE NXT (0.14, -0.02) slipped on the CW. Key: (R) = repeat.

Monday TV Ratings 9/23/24: Brilliant Minds and Rescue: HI-Surf Off to Tepid Starts, 9-1-1: Lone Star Returns Heavily Down [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: New drama Brilliant Minds (0.29) had a passable start on NBC, retaining a little more than 60% of The Voice (0.48) for its series debut. On Fox, 9-1-1: Lone Star (0.27) crashed to a new series low out the gate and was a full three-tenths below its last season premiere (0.57). The news got even worse from there as Rescue: HI-Surf (0.20, -0.91) lost 82% of its premiere rating from a day ago. ABC's Commanders/Bengals NFL game (3.37) easily topped the night. CBS aired an original Price Is Right At Night (0.32) and a repeat of NCIS (0.16). All American: Homecoming (0.04, +0.01) ticked up on the CW and led into the series premiere of The Wranglers (0.02). Key: (P) = premiere. (R) = repeat.

Wednesday TV Ratings 6/19/24: Olympic Swimming Trials Easily Lead, MasterChef and Food Stars Rebound, The Price Is Right At Night Rerun Slips [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: The US Olympic Trials (0.44) topped the night in the key Adults 18-49 demographic and led NBC to Wednesday night victory. Fox's MasterChef (0.30, +0.08) and Food Stars (0.19, +0.05) both rebounded after falling to nasty new lows last week. Repeats of The Price Is Right At Night (0.31) and Let's Make a Deal Primetime (0.27) were lower than they were last week on CBS, but the 10PM Tracker repeat (0.19) was actually slightly higher. ABC went with encores of The Conners (0.22/0.18), Abbott Elementary (0.13), and Shark Tank (0.12). Walker (0.07, +0.01) picked up a hundredth on the CW.

Wednesday TV Ratings 5/29/24: MasterChef Hits New Low in Return, The Price Is Right at Night Leads [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: Though Fox's MasterChef (0.30) returned with a new series low on Wednesday night, this rating was only slightly below its summer 2023 premiere (0.33). In the 9 p.m. hour, Food Stars (0.19, 0.00) tied last week's meager premiere rating and lost out to a rerun of Willie Nelson's 90th Birthday Celebration (0.26). The Price Is Right At Night (0.45, +0.09) jumped on CBS and was the top-rated program of the night. Walker (0.06, +0.01) ticked up on the CW, while Sight Unseen (0.03, 0.00) matched its week-ago installment. ABC aired repeats of The Conners (0.22/0.18/0.17/0.13) and Shark Tank (0.15). NBC went with encores of Chicago Med (0.20), Chicago Fire (0.18), and Chicago PD (0.19).

Thursday TV Ratings 5/23/24: Elsbeth Rises for Finale at Special Time, Don’t Forget the Lyrics Ties Low in Return, Station 19 Hits Another Low as 9-1-1 Rises [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: CBS's Elsbeth (0.28, +0.02) was bumped up an hour on finale night and grew slightly as a result. The Price Is Right At Night (0.36, +0.01) also improved a bit at 8. Meanwhile, Fox continued to roll out its summer lineup, but the results remained abysmal. Like Food Stars, Don't Forget the Lyrics! (0.19) could only tie last season's low in its premiere but did, at the very least, outpace its I Can See Your Voice lead-in (0.17, 0.00). On ABC, 9-1-1 (0.46, +0.02) ticked up, Grey's Anatomy (0.35, 0.00) matched its week-ago rating, and Station 19 (0.20, -0.01) descended to a new low. NBC's Red Nose Day: Cheers to Ten Years special (0.15) did not make much noise. It was followed by reruns of The Wall (0.15) and Law & Order: SVU (0.13). Patti Stanger: The Matchmaker (0.03, 0.00) and Lovers and Liars (0.03, 0.00) were both steady on the CW.

Monday TV Ratings 5/20/24: Pope Francis Interview Flops, So You Think You Can Dance Hits New Low for Finale, The Voice and Jeopardy! Masters Lead [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: A Pope Francis interview on CBS managed a meager 0.17 rating and dropped noticeably from the NCIS rerun (0.25) that led into it. Earlier in the night, The Price Is Right At Night (0.35) placed third in its 8 PM time slot. On Fox, MasterChef Junior (0.24, -0.01) and So You Think You Can Dance (0.10, -0.03) declined for their respective finales. Jeopardy! Masters (0.41, +0.12) bounced back on ABC and led into repeats of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune (0.26) and Press Your Luck (0.20). NBC's The Voice (0.41, +0.02) inched up, while Weakest Link (0.27, -0.03) weakened. On the CW, All American (0.09, -0.02) slipped.

Wednesday TV Ratings 2/14/24: The Conners and Abbott Elementary Slip, We Are Family and Judge Steve Harvey Hit New Lows (UPDATED w/Analysis)

Ratings Analysis: There was some noticeable slippage on ABC as The Conners (0.39, -0.02), Not Dead Yet (0.28, -0.04), and Abbott Elementary (0.44, -0.04) all declined from their week-ago premieres. The news was even worse at 10 where Judge Steve Harvey (0.14, -0.06) fell from an already abysmal starting-point, despite the fact that its lead-in was a Harvey-hosted rerun of Celebrity Family Feud (0.25). I Can See Your Voice (0.22, +0.03) improved on Fox, but We Are Family (0.18, -0.07) crashed to a new low after taking a week off. CBS game show The Price Is Right At Night (0.46, -0.03) dipped, but Let's Make a Deal Primetime (0.35, +0.08) surged after sinking last week. Wild Cards (0.07, -0.01) inched down on the CW, while Family Law (0.07, +0.02) grew enough to tie its lead-in. Over on NBC, Chicago Med (0.30), Chicago Fire (0.29), and Chicago PD (0.30) were all in rerun-mode.

Finals Update: The Price Is Right At Night (+0.1) adjusted up.

Friday TV Ratings 2/2/24: The Price Is Right At Night and Shark Tank Slide, WWE SmackDown Leads (UPDATED w/Analysis)

Ratings Analysis: The Price Is Right At Night (0.34, -0.16) was down significantly from Wednesday night's episode but remained a respectable option by Friday standards. CBS followed the prime time version of The Price Is Right with repeats of Fire Country (0.20) and Blue Bloods (0.17). ABC's Shark Tank (0.39, -0.04) dropped by four-hundredths, while 20/20 (0.33, -0.09) nearly shed a full tenth. Fox's WWE Smackdown (0.74, +0.03) got even stronger on the Fox network. Transplant (0.15, -0.02) and Dateline (0.21, -0.06) both declined on NBC, with this duo proving to be an even weaker option than last week's Figure Skating (0.23). Penn & Teller (0.08, +0.02) was up on the CW.

Finals Update: Shark Tank (+0.1) and the repeat of Blue Bloods (+0.1) adjusted up.

Wednesday TV Ratings 1/31/24: We Are Family and I Can See Your Voice Tick Up, One Chicago Lineup Drops, NBA Underwhelming (UPDATED w/Analysis)

Ratings Analysis: Things became a tad more alarming for NBC's lineup in week three as Chicago Med (0.47, -0.09) and Chicago PD (0.46, -0.07) dealt with even steeper declines than they did in week two. Chicago Fire (0.49, -0.07) matched last week's decline, and that was enough for it to pull ahead of its Med lead-in. Since the One Chicago block crumbled, CBS's The Price Is Right At Night (0.50, -0.02) was free to top the night despite dipping slightly. Let's Make a Deal Primetime (0.37, -0.02) and FBI True (0.15, -0.03) also inched down. Amidst all the sinking, Fox game shows I Can See Your Voice (0.25, +0.02) and We Are Family (0.25, +0.03) both built on their week-ago installments. ABC's Suns v. Nets NBA game (0.28) was a tenth lower than last week's Suns v. Mavericks match-up (0.39). Wild Cards (0.05, -0.03) crashed on the CW, but Family Law (0.05, 0.00) held flat.

Finals Update: Chicago PD (+0.1) and Let's Make a Deal Primetime (+0.1) adjusted up.

Wednesday TV Ratings 1/24/24: One Chicago Lineup Slides in Week Two, We Are Family Also Drops, Wild Cards Doubles (UPDATED w/Analysis)

Ratings Analysis: NBC dramas Chicago Med (0.56, -0.05), Chicago Fire (0.56, -0.07), and Chicago P.D. (0.53, -0.04) all slipped in week two, but the drops were far from alarming as these three remained the top three of the night in the Adults 18-49 demographic. Over on Fox, We Are Family (0.22, -0.07) gave back any boost it might have taken away from its post-NFL showing and fell behind its I Can See Your Voice lead-in (0.23, +0.02). The Price Is Right At Night (0.52, +0.08) surged on CBS, and Let's Make a Deal Primetime (0.39) proved to be a worthy retainer in the 9 p.m. hour, but FBI True (0.18) was still dead weight at 10. ABC's broadcast of the Suns v. Mavericks NBA game (0.39) was more than a tenth lower than last week's game (0.52). Crime drama Wild Cards (0.08, +0.04) doubled last week's premiere rating on the CW, and Family Law (0.05, +0.02) grew along with it.

Finals Update: NBA: Suns v. Mavericks (+0.1), Let's Make a Deal Primetime (+0.1), Chicago Fire (+0.1), and Chicago Med (+0.1) adjusted up.

Wednesday TV Ratings 1/17/24: Chicago Med, Chicago Fire and Chicago PD Return Up from Finales, We Are Family Rises from Last Wednesday (UPDATED w/Analysis)

Ratings Analysis: It was a very successful premiere night on NBC as Chicago Med (0.61), Chicago Fire (0.63), and Chicago P.D. (0.57) all returned well above their May 2023 finales (0.44/0.49/0.45) and were the top three programs of the night. ABC was close behind with their Mavericks v. Lakers NBA game (0.52) but settled for a respectable second-place finish in the Adults 18-49 demographic. I Can See Your Voice (0.21, -0.01) ticked down on Fox, but We Are Family (0.29, -0.88) was actually eight-hundredths higher than last week (0.21). It was, however, well below Sunday's NFL-boosted episode for obvious reasons. The Price Is Right At Night (0.44, 0.00) held steady on CBS, while Raid the Cage (0.35, +0.02) grew to a new series high. The series premiere of Wild Cards (0.04) disappointed on the CW but was at least a step ahead of the return of Family Law (0.03).

Finals Update: NBA: Mavericks v. Lakers (+0.1) adjusted up.
