Not Dead Yet Canceled After Two Seasons

Not Dead Yet now just dead. ABC has canceled the low-rated sitcom after two short seasons. The series was the final scripted show on ABC still awaiting a renewal decision this season. Not Dead Yet was ABC's lowest-rated comedy by a significant margin this season, with just a 0.25 average, and was their second-lowest-rated show overall, only surpassing The Good Doctor, which has also been canceled. The news comes as ABC prepares to end veteran sitcom The Conners next season, meaning that, barring unexpected scheduling for the final season of The Conners, Abbott Elementary will be the network's only veteran sitcom as they head into 2025. Over its two seasons, Not Dead Yet aired twenty-three episodes, airing its series finale on April 24. Gina Rodriguez, Hannah Simone, Lauren Ash, Angela E. Gibbs and Brad Garrett star in the series. This is a correct prediction for The TV Ratings Guide.

Wednesday TV Ratings 4/17/24: Survivor and The Conners Jump, Abbott Elementary Drops to New Low, Family Guy Slips for Finale (Final Ratings w/Analysis)

Ratings Analysis: Though it declined for its 100th episode last week, ABC's The Conners (0.39, +0.05) grew for its 101st installment in a pretty noticeable way. But things got legitimately shaky after that as Not Dead Yet (0.23, -0.03) slipped, and Abbott Elementary (0.27, -0.05) crashed to a new series low. On Fox, The Masked Singer (0.40, -0.08) and Animal Control (0.18, -0.05) were heavily down, but Family Guy (0.17, -0.02) had a more mild dip for its season finale. Survivor (0.77, +0.08) and The Amazing Race (0.37, +0.03) increased in size on CBS. NBC's reruns of Chicago Med (0.22), Fire (0.22), and PD (0.19) beat out the Fox sitcoms in the key demo. Walker (0.06, -0.02) slipped on the CW, but Sight Unseen (0.05, +0.02) recovered a bit.
