On Christmas, NBA on ABC (0.83/0.48) led the way, even as numbers were down sharply from last year. NBC aired two different Grinch iterations (0.33/0.34), which were noticeably stronger than CBS repeats of Ghosts (0.26/0.14) and FBI (0.10). Fox aired Hell's Kitchen reruns (0.08/0.08). Wednesday TV Ratings 12/24/25: Home Alone Dominates but Down Sizably from 2024, It’s a Wonderful Life Also Down but Strong, Hollywood Squares Repeat Doubles Original Rating [+ Analysis]

On the night before Christmas, it was the annual ABC showing of Home Alone (0.50) that led the way on network TV. NBC's broadcast of It's A Wonderful Life (0.35) was close behind. CBS aired repeats of Hollywood Squares (0.20) and Ghosts (0.14/0.14/0.14/0.14). Fox went with encores of Name That Tune (0.09) and Doc (0.06). Key: (R) = repeat.

Wednesday TV Ratings 12/25/24: How the Grinch Stole Christmas Rises from 2023, NBA Triples Previous Christmas Game [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: NBC continued its Christmas tradition of airing both the 1966 Grinch cartoon (0.28) and the 2000 feature film (0.40). The latter was up slightly from last year (0.38), while the cartoon was down a bit from 2023 (0.32). On ABC, the Lakers v. Warriors NBA game (1.32) topped the night, but the Nuggets v. Suns game (0.60) dropped dramatically from there. CBS re-aired NCIS (0.20/0.17/0.18). Fox went with another Celebrity Holiday Bricktacular encore (0.12). Tuesday TV Ratings 12/24/24: It’s a Wonderful Life Down from 2023, Home Alone Dominates, The Price Is Right At Night Low [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: On Christmas Eve, ABC's broadcast of Home Alone (0.63) topped the night and was only down a tiny bit from last year (0.65). NBC's showing of It's a Wonderful Life (0.37) placed second in the 8 p.m. time slot, dropping more from its 2023 airing (0.42) than Home Alone did. CBS aired Christmas with Andrea Bocelli and Friends (0.18), an uncharacteristically weak Price Is Right At Night (0.20), and a repeat of Nate Bargatze's Nashville Christmas (0.18). Fox re-aired LEGO Masters: Celebrity Holiday Bricktacular (0.11). WWE NXT (0.14, -0.02) slipped on the CW. Key: (R) = repeat.
