STORMERE
Season 2, Episode 6: "Rage"
EXT.
WILLOWFORD SQUARE – NIGHT
The bell
tolls.
Once.
Twice.
Curfew.
The square
empties in seconds.
Doors shut.
Windows close. Lights dim.
Only one
figure remains.
SOREN.
Standing
beneath the statue of NOX.
Hunter’s
sword in his hand.
Still.
Unmoving.
The wind
howls faintly through the empty streets.
Behind him…
LYRA, ARIADNE, and RONIN stand at a distance.
Watching.
Waiting.
Soren
doesn’t turn.
SOREN: This ends tonight.
CUT TO BLACK.
SMASH TO TITLE:
STORMFALL
EXT.
WILLOWFORD STREETS – NIGHT
The town
sleeps.
Or pretends
to.
Soren walks
through it like a storm waiting to happen.
Lyra catches
up beside him.
LYRA: Don’t you think you’re a bit too... angry to be doing this today?
He keeps
walking.
SOREN: Oh, I am very angry. That’s exactly what I want.
Ariadne and
Ronin follow behind.
ARIADNE: Soren, whatever you’re planning…
SOREN (cuts her off): I’m not planning anything. I’m doing it.
He stops at
the edge of the square.
Looks at a
group of WARDENS patrolling.
Calm.
Controlled. Unarmed… but dangerous.
Soren grips
his sword.
RONIN: This is a bad idea.
SOREN: Yeah. It is.
He steps
forward.
EXT.
WILLOWFORD SQUARE – CONTINUOUS
The wardens
notice him immediately.
They don’t
draw weapons.
They don’t
panic.
They simply
step into formation.
One of them,
the LEAD WARDEN, steps forward.
WARDEN: Curfew is in effect. Return to your assigned residence.
Soren
doesn’t slow.
SOREN: No.
A beat.
The wardens
shift.
Still calm.
Still
controlled.
WARDEN: Non-compliance will be recorded.
Soren stops
inches from him.
Eyes
burning.
SOREN: Good.
A beat.
Then…
Soren
swings.
Fast.
Violent.
The warden
is thrown back across the stone.
The
formation breaks instantly.
They move
in.
Lyra rushes
forward.
LYRA: Soren, STOP!
Too late.
Soren fights
like a man with nothing left to lose.
Brutal.
Reckless. Uncontrolled.
He doesn’t
defend.
He doesn’t
hesitate.
He just destroys.
Ronin joins
in, more controlled, trying to keep Soren from going too far.
Ariadne
raises her hands.
Magic
flares.
But
unstable.
It flickers
wrong.
One blast
hits the ground.
The stone
cracks.
Too
violently.
ARIADNE: I can’t…
Another
pulse.
Stronger.
The ground
beneath the square glows faintly.
The wardens
hesitate.
For the
first time… Something breaks their rhythm.
Soren
doesn’t notice.
He grabs one
warden…
Slams him
into the base of Nox’s statue.
Again.
Again.
LYRA (shouting): SOREN!
He doesn’t stop.
EXT.
WILLOWFORD SQUARE – CONTINUOUS
The ground
pulses again.
Stronger
now.
The glow
beneath the stone spreads like veins.
A low hum
fills the air.
Ariadne’s
eyes widen.
ARIADNE: Soren, STOP!
He doesn’t.
He raises
his sword.
About to
strike again.
Lyra steps
between him and the fallen warden.
LYRA: ENOUGH!
The sword
stops inches from her.
A long beat.
Soren is
breathing hard.
Shaking.
His grip
tightens.
For a second.
It looks
like he might swing anyway.
Silence
crashes down.
Then.
The ground
ERUPTS.
A surge of
raw magic bursts upward from beneath the square.
Throwing
everyone back.
Soren hits
the ground hard.
The statue
of Nox cracks slightly.
A fracture
running through its base.
The glow
beneath the town pulses wildly.
Unstable.
Ariadne
scrambles to her feet.
ARIADNE: The magic is reacting!
Ronin helps
Lyra up.
RONIN: To what?!
Ariadne
looks at Soren.
Then at the
ground.
Then back at
him.
Realization
hits.
ARIADNE: To him. To his rage.
Soren pushes
himself up.
Stunned.
Still angry.
But now…
Afraid.
EXT.
WILLOWFORD SQUARE – CONTINUOUS
The wardens
regroup.
Not
attacking.
Observing. Recording.
Even now.
The lead
warden rises slowly.
Blood at the
edge of his mouth.
But calm.
Still calm.
WARDEN: Incident… recorded.
Soren stares
at him.
Disbelief.
SOREN: That’s it?
The warden
meets his eyes.
WARDEN: Order will be restored.
Soren steps
forward again.
But Lyra
grabs him.
Hard.
LYRA: Look around you! Look what you’re doing to your home.
He does.
The cracked
square.
The glowing
ground.
The
terrified people watching from shadows.
The broken
system.
Because of
him.
EXT. EDGE
OF THE SQUARE – NIGHT
The group
stands together.
Breathing
heavy.
Silence.
Then.
LYRA: What the hell was that?
No one
answers.
Ariadne
looks shaken.
More than
before.
ARIADNE: The magic… it’s unstable. It’s like… it has no other place to go.
A beat.
ARIADNE (CONT’D): And it reacted to you.
Soren looks
at her.
SOREN: What does that mean?
Ariadne
hesitates.
ARIADNE: It means… your emotions might be affecting it.
That lands.
Hard.
Ronin
exhales.
RONIN: So the angrier you get…
ARIADNE: The worse it gets.
Silence.
Lyra looks
at Soren.
Really looks
at him.
LYRA: You can’t keep doing this. This isn’t you, Soren.
Soren
doesn’t answer.
Because for
the first time…
He doesn’t
have anything to say.
EXT.
THORNE’S HOUSE – LATE NIGHT
Soren sits
on the porch again.
Same place.
Hunter’s
sword beside him.
Untouched.
Lyra
approaches slowly.
Sits beside
him.
A long
silence.
SOREN: I almost hit you.
Lyra nods.
LYRA: Yeah. You almost did.
A beat.
SOREN: I didn’t even hesitate.
That’s the
part that scares him.
Lyra looks
ahead.
LYRA: You’re not okay.
SOREN: I know.
A long
pause.
SOREN (CONT’D): I don’t know how to fix it.
Lyra doesn’t
give him an answer.
Because she
doesn’t have one.
But she
stays.
That’s
enough. For now.
EXT.
WILLOWFORD SQUARE – SAME NIGHT
The statue
of Nox looms in the darkness.
A visible
crack running through its base now.
The wind
blows harder.
The banners
ripple violently.
And beneath
the ground.
A faint
pulse.
Still there.
Still waiting.
EXT.
THORNE’S HOUSE – NIGHT
Back to
Soren.
Sitting.
Silent.
But not
empty anymore.
Something
else is there now.
He rises and
starts heading out of town. Somewhere. Alone. To find himself.
END OF EPISODE.
