Fox has ordered their first new series for the 2025-26 TV season. Following the success of Doc, the network has ordered another medical drama to series, titled Best Medicine. Similar to Doc (based on a hit Italian series), Best Medicine is an adaption of an international hit, based on the British drama Doc Martin. Josh Charles will star in the series, playing Doctor Martin Best, a peculiar but brilliant doctor who abruptly leaves his career in Boston and becomes a general practitioner in a quaint fishing village on the east coast. His blunt and poor bedside manner doesn't endear him to the town's locals, and alienates him. Charles is the only cast member announced for the series so far. Best Medicine is entirely owned by Fox, just the second Fox original series with this distinction, after one-season bomb Monarch.
