It's been another busy week on streaming, with finales of several high-profile shows and new episodes of powerhouse hits. Keep reading to see what was trending on streaming this week on Hulu, Disney+, Peacock, Paramount+ and Max!
Hulu:
Good American Family ended its run in great form, topping the Hulu chart for the majority of the week, and never dipping out of the top three. Fellow Hulu original The Handmaid's Tale looked solid as well, topping the chart one day and remaining in the top five for six days this week. ABC saw two of their own series hitting #1 as well, with reality competition series American Idol once again hitting #1 on Tuesday and 9-1-1 returning after a week off by hitting #1 on Saturday. Most other ABC series charted as well. The Rookie remained a strong player, peaking at #2 and consistently charting within the top five. Will Trent charted through the week, and peaked at #3, but was significantly weaker than The Rookie for much of the week. An interview with President Trump about his first 100 days back in office charted one day at #6. Grey's Anatomy peaked at #2 this week, charting four days in all, due to not airing last week. Doctor Odyssey looked a bit better than average, peaking at #6 over two appearances. Game shows The $100,000 Pyramid, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! Masters all failed to chart, emphasizing their roles as casual viewing. Daytime soap General Hospital charted six days this week, peaking at #4, while fellow daytime series The View made its way back onto the chart for one day this week. Fox had a fairly solid week, with Next Level Chef looking quite strong. The Gordon Ramsay cooking series charted six times this week, bookending the week at #4 on the chart. Family Guy charted four days this week, peaking at #6. Alert charted four days and peaked at #5, once again looking far stronger than its lead-in, The Cleaning Lady. That series charted just one day, at #8, far from an abnormal performance for it. The Masked Singer had its highest peak of the season at #7. Farmer Wants a Wife continued to perform well on Hulu, charting five times and peaking at #8, though that peak is down from last week - likely due to the returns of the ABC dramas. The Simpsons, The Great North, America's Most Wanted and its spinoff Missing Persons, Krapopolis and Grimsburg all failed to chart at all this week, an unusually long list. Hulu unscripted series Vanderpump Villa, released in a binge format last week, charted five days this week, dropping off the chart on Friday. Freeform's The Stolen Girl remained on the chart through the week.Disney+:
Andor remained the top show on Disney+ this week, leading the chart two days and ranking #2 the rest of the week, remaining just as strong as it was in its debut week. The amount of TV on the chart greatly decreased this week in general. Good American Family dropped off the Disney+ chart for the first time in its run at the start of the week, though it was back on the chart mid-week, once it aired its season finale, peaking at #4. Daredevil: Born Again also left the chart for the first time, after five days on the chart in all this week. The Marvel series aired its season one finale on April 15, so departing the charts at this point was to be expected. NatGeo docuseries Secrets of the Penguins was the only other series on the chart, lasting four days into the week before vanishing. The rest of the chart was movies. A preview of Thunderbolts*, the latest Marvel theatrical feature, topped the chart one day this week. Mufasa: The Lion King, once again led the way at the start of the week, dropped off the list entirely, and was back on the chart at the end of the week, though not at #1. Kung Fu Panda rose from nowhere to hit #1 the last two days of the week. Other films charting multiple days this week included Rio 2, Shark Tale, Lily & Stitch 2, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and, perhaps most notably, all three Star Wars prequel films.
Note: Disney+ is the only service not to provide a separate list for TV shows and movies. On this chart, movies are listed in bold.
Peacock:
Note: Peacock's top 10 chart updates throughout the day. For consistency, all data collection is done daily at 2 PM.
Paramount+:
It was another week mostly dominated by CBs series rather than Paramount+ originals, with MobLand topping the chart one day and CBS topping the chart the rest of the week. NCIS and Ghosts were the only series able to lead the chart multiple times this week, the first time this season that Ghosts has done so. Survivor and Tracker also topped the chart again, for a day each. Trackers fellow series, Watson and The Equalizer, both made the bottom of the chart on Monday. The Neighborhood charted four days in all this week, peaking at #4. NCIS: Origins ended its season with a lone chart appearance, at #9. Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage charted three days, peaking at #5. Elsbeth scored a season-high peak of #6, and SWAT similarly had its best peak yet, at #7. In many cases, these shows were assisted in reaching season's-best showings by a lack of competition, as typically-strong chart performers like Matlock and Fire Country (which charted six days in all this week) have ended for the season. Poppa's House ended its run forever, and failed to chart just like every other week, while The Amazing Race and Hollywood Squares were the only other CBS originals that failed to chart this week. Paramount+ original. Happy Face ended its run this week, reaching a #2 peak and charting each day this week, its best performance in both metrics in several weeks. Criminal Minds made the top half of the chart, peaking at #2, in the week before its season premiere.Note: As with Peacock, Paramount+'s top 10 chart updates throughout the day. For consistency, all data collection is done daily at 2 PM.
Max:
It was another dominant week on Max for dystopian thriller The Last of Us, with the series remaining atop the Max chart for the entire week, following the release of the third episode of season two. A comedy was behind it on the chart for the entire week, with The Righteous Gemstones spending four days at #2 and Hacks spending three days. The Righteous Gemstones had a better week than Hacks in general, only dropping as low as #4, while Hacks dipped to #7 on the chart. Both were still among the most consistently strong players on Max this week. Talk/variety shows Last Week Tonight and Real Time both peaked at #3 on the Max charts this week. Last Week Tonight charted five days this week, slipping off the chart on Saturday - a very rare occurrence for a week where the show aired a new episode. Real Time was, as always, a bit weaker, charting three times. The Rehearsal remained the weakest link from HBO's offerings this week, peaking at #5 and charting six days, having briefly slipped off the chart on Friday. The White Lotus and The Pitt, two dominant performers that have now been off the air for some time, remained on the chart the whole week. Several unscripted shows from Discovery cable networks also charted this week, including the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, 1000-Lb. Sisters and Sister Wives from TLC, Hollywood Demons from ID, and Ghost Adventures from Discovery.Poll of the Week:
