KISS KISS GOODBYE

Episode 1: “Don’t Let Them Smell Fear”

FADE IN:

EXT. LUXURIOUS HOTEL BALLROOM - NIGHT (FLASHFORWARD: 6 MONTHS IN THE FUTURE)

A grand New Year’s Eve party. Crystal chandeliers. Black-tie elegance. Champagne flows as high-powered professionals toast to success. The atmosphere is intoxicating—money, power, ambition.

We PUSH THROUGH the crowd, catching glimpses of our key players:

  • JULIAN MARSHALL (40s, Managing Partner) - Flawless in a tux, a practiced smile masking calculation.

  • AVA LIU (30s, Senior Consultant) - Eyes sharp, posture stiff. She scans the room like she’s searching for someone—or something.

  • DANIEL "DANNY" REYES (30s, Associate) - Slightly tipsy, laughing, but his eyes betray tension.

  • SOPHIA CALDWELL (50s, COO) - Standing by the bar, watching everything unfold like a queen surveying her court.

  • ETHAN RILEY (30s, Junior Consultant) - Anxious, fidgeting, feeling out of place among the power players.

A large digital clock behind the stage reads: 11:59 PM

The crowd counts down: "TEN... NINE... EIGHT..."

Ava’s breathing is shallow. Something’s wrong.

"SEVEN... SIX... FIVE..."

Julian’s hand tightens around his champagne flute.

"FOUR... THREE..."

Danny whispers something to Ethan. Ethan nods, barely.

"TWO..."

A SHARP SCREAM cuts through the celebration.

"ONE!"

Confetti explodes. The crowd gasps. A body falls to the ground. Blood seeps onto the marble floor.

The music stops. Panic spreads.

SOMEONE IS DEAD.

FADE TO BLACK.

TITLE CARD: KISS KISS GOODBYE

INT. PRESTIGIOUS CONSULTING FIRM - MORNING (PRESENT DAY)

Six months before the murder.

The firm hums with controlled chaos. Employees in sharp suits, power-walking between glass-walled offices. Phones ring. Deals are being made. Careers are being broken.

Ava strides in, coffee in one hand, phone in the other. She moves with the precision of someone who always has somewhere more important to be. She pauses at the sight of Ethan, nervously adjusting his tie in the reflection of a conference room.

AVA
First day?

ETHAN
(surprised, nods)
Yeah. Ethan Riley. Junior consultant.

AVA
A word of advice, Ethan. Don’t let them smell fear.

ETHAN
(chuckles, uneasy)
I’ll try.

AVA
No. Do it.

She walks off. Ethan exhales, resetting his posture.

INT. JULIAN MARSHALL’S OFFICE - LATER

Julian stands by the window, looking down at the city. His office screams wealth—sleek leather chairs, bookshelves filled with trophies of past victories. Danny sits across from him, arms crossed.

JULIAN
You’re too soft on people, Danny.

DANNY
And you’re too ruthless.

JULIAN
That’s why I’m here. And why you’re still clawing your way up.

Danny clenches his jaw. Julian turns, smirking.

JULIAN
You don’t like how I do things? Take my job.

DANNY
(smirks back)
Oh, I plan to.

A tense beat. Then—Julian laughs, claps Danny on the back.

JULIAN
That’s the spirit.

INT. CONFERENCE ROOM - DAY

A high-stakes client meeting. Ava, Danny, and Sophia sit at the table with Mr. Lancaster, an old-money CEO with a skeptical gaze.

MR. LANCASTER
Your firm has made bold promises before. What makes this time different?

Sophia leans forward, unshaken.

SOPHIA
Because this time, you don’t have a choice.

Beat. Then—

LANCASTER
(grins)
I like your style.

The deal is sealed. But as hands shake, Ava notices Julian watching from the glass wall, a knowing look in his eyes.

EXT. ROOFTOP - NIGHT

Danny and Ava stand overlooking the city, whiskey in hand.

DANNY
Do you ever wonder what we had to give up to get here?

AVA
All the time.

Beat.

AVA
Six months from now, everything will be different.

Danny studies her.

DANNY
Different how?

AVA
(smirks, but something dark lingers)
You’ll see.

FADE TO BLACK.
