Welcome back to The TV Ratings Guide's inaugural May Mayhem Tournament! This tournament started off with 32 shows that reached #1 on our What's Trending chart for the respective streaming service between January 4 and May 2, 2026. Shows are weighted based on how many days they ranked at #1, as well as the market shares for the streaming services. A total of 107 shows have spent at least one day ranking at #1 its service's What's Trending chart, with the top-weighted 32 making the May Mayhem Tournament. There are 16 shows remaining in this round.
Below you can find the full bracket, broken up into four groups, followed by polls where you can vote on which show should proceed to the next round. Round 2 voting will close on Saturday, May 15. Let us know what you think in the comments!
Group A Bracket
There were two Netflix vs. Prime Video matchups in Group A: Bridgerton vs. Beast Games, and Scarpetta vs. Beauty In Black. Netflix's Bridgerton blew by Prime Video's Beast Games in the former matchup, while Prime Video's Scarpetta defeated Netflix's Beauty In Black by over a two-to-one margin. Elsewhere, a Hulu vs. Hulu matchup saw Love Story squeak past Tell Me Lies, while a Prime Video vs. Prime Video matchup saw Invincible easily defeat 56 Days. This means there were no upsets in Group A in the first round.
No one streaming service has been wiped out from Group A, as Netflix, Hulu, and Prime Video all have at least one show in contention. In fact, the Invincible vs. Scarpetta matchup guarantees a Prime Video show will advance to the Group A Final.
Group B Bracket
Apple TV no longer has any representation in May Mayhem. Despite putting up a solid fight, Shrinking has fallen to Paramount+'s South Park. The latter will face off against Netflix's Running Point, which pulled off an upset against Disney+'s sole Group B show, Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord. The rest of Group B was damning for Netflix, with its remaining two shows -- Trust Me: The False Prophet and The Dinosaurs -- getting a combined 11 votes. Trust Me stalled in the single digits against Peacock's Ted, while The Dinosaurs could only muster two votes against Hulu's High Potential. High Potential, one of two shows in the tournament to first air on broadcast television, led the first round in votes.
Even with Apple TV eliminated entirely and Disney+ eliminated from Group B, there are still four streaming services represented in the four remaining Group B shows: Paramount+, Netflix, Peacock, and Hulu.
Group C Bracket
The biggest first-round upset in May Mayhem comes with Hulu's Paradise cruising past Netflix's WWE Raw, a program which gained a one seed after consistently topping the What's Trending chart on Netflix once a week. Peacock's The Traitors was victorious over Netflix's Virgin River by the same margin, and will now face off against Paradise in the second round. HBO Max's two bids played each other in the 2/7 matchup, with The Pitt gaining the highest number of votes for a Group C show. It will play Disney+'s Wonder Man in the second round, which crushed Netflix's Katt Williams: The Last Report.
This was simply a terrible bracket for Netflix, which lost all three of its shows by resounding margins. Hulu, Peacock, HBO Max, and Disney+ are all still represented in Group C.
Group D Bracket
In another Prime Video vs. Prime Video matchup, Fallout held off Young Sherlock to advance to the Group D semifinals. It will face Hulu's The Rookie, which faced a tough battle against Paramount+'s Landman. Elsewhere, Disney+'s Percy Jackson & The Olympians was no competition for Prime Video's The Boys, which will face Hulu's The Testaments in the next round. The Testaments advances with 24 votes, less than three shows that were eliminated -- Hulu's Tell Me Lies in Group A, Apple TV's Shrinking in Group B, and Paramount+'s Landman in its own group. Netflix's Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model proved to be weak competition for the Handmaid's Tale spinoff.
Two Prime Video shows and two Hulu shows will advance in Group D, with Paramount+, Netflix, and Disney+ losing their Group D representation. With The Rookie's win, both broadcast TV shows advance to the next round; all three shows airing on either broadcast or basic cable advance.
Hulu leads all streaming services with five shows remaining in May Mayhem, after five of its six shows won their first-round matchups. Prime Video is right behind with four shows advancing out of seven bids. Peacock and Netflix are now tied with two shows remaining, after both of Peacock's shows advanced while only two of Netflix's nine did the same. Disney+, HBO Max, and Paramount+ have one show each remaining, while Apple TV has zero.
