The Rookie: Feds Canceled After One Season

The spinoff of one of ABC's top shows won't be joining its parent series on ABC's schedule next season. The Rookie: Feds has been canceled after just one season, weeks after The Rookie was renewed for a sixth. The series tied Not Dead Yet as ABC's highest-rated new series this season, with a 0.30 average, but that average was still very underwhelming. Its performance improved midseason when it was moved to 9 PM behind the most compatible lead-in ABC could find: The Rookie. While The Rookie saw a huge spoken the ratings, gains for Feds were more modest, and its retention from The Rookie looked downright ugly at times. ABC has decided that the post-Rookie slot can be better used on something else. Niecy Nash-Betts, Britt Robertson, James Lesure, Felix Solis, Frankie Faison and Kevin Zegers starred in the series.
