Found: After two weaker datapoints in a row, Found bounced back last week with an above-average showing, drawing a 0.37. That's up 0.12 from the series low it drew just a week prior, and while it remains to be seen if it will hold steady there, it's enough for me to be confident in upgrading the show this week. I was cautious in my prediction early on, fearing it would crumble, but it as remained mostly solid in live+SD ratings and NBC has bragged about the show being one of their strongest shows ever on Peacock. With all that it has going for it, and all that NBC has done to hype up the show, it seems extremely unlikely that they would suddenly cancel the highest-rated scripted show from their fall lineup, even if the competition for it was minimal. It's a LIKELY RENEWAL.
The Irrational: Last week, over a week after its midseason finale, NBC announced that they were ordering an additional episode of The Irrational. The show's ratings have been passable at best, and they probably don't need to renew this show, but the fact that they've gone through the trouble of extending it at all is probably a good sign for its future. Of course, a one-episode extension is far from what we would expect in most normal seasons, but the strikes have made this season anything but normal. I'm still not confident about its future, but this helps me feel a bit more secure in predicting a renewal for now. It LEANS RENEWAL
La Brea: After predicting a cancellation last season and being wrong, I started out this season pretty sure that season three would be the end of La Brea, labeling it a Likely Cancellation in my pre-season Renew/Cancel. This turned out to be an accurate call, as NBC announced today that that short third season, which was said to have been ordered as strike-proof programming despite not airing in the fall at all, will be its last. The show's ratings have made this far from a surprise, and NBC likely won't have much trouble filling this show's shoes.
