FADE IN:

EXT. APARTMENT BUILDING - DAY

A shabby looking apartment sits in the middle of downtown Beverly Hills, California.

INT. APARTMENT BUILDING HALLWAY - DAY

The hallway is mostly empty, except for a door opening.

The apartment with the open door is Mike’s apartment.

INT. MIKE’S APARTMENT LIVING ROOM - DAY

Mike is sitting on the sofa in his apartment.

Mike’s cell phone rings.

Mike picks it up.

His eyes widen in shock.

MIKE
What do you mean some of the testers hated my pilot?

Mike gets up and paces back and forth with the phone to his ear.

MIKE (CONT'D)
Is there something I could do to change it?

He then stops pacing. He stands in panic mode.

MIKE (CONT'D)
Okay sir. I’ll get the changes to you by the end of the week.

Mike then sits on the sofa.

He hangs up the phone.

He sighs.

EXT. OLD MANSION - DAY

An old mansion sits in the heart of Malibu, right on the beach.

Noah and Jack are outside sitting on the picnic table with notepads in hand.

The front door opens to reveal Peter.

PETER
Boys! Come in here!

Jack looks at Noah, who shrugs.

They exit the scene.

INT. KITCHEN - DAY

SUPER: FIVE MINUTES LATER

Peter, Jack, and Noah are having an argument.

JACK
Look, we can’t afford to constantly buy beer for the place.

NOAH
We’re broke.

PETER
Look, I know you’re broke. But you have to take some responsibilities for the house.

Jack and Noah look at each other.

Jack then turns back to Peter.

JACK
Like rent?

PETER
If you can think of it as like rent, then yes.

Jack then nods.

Noah then exits the scene, as does Jack.

SUPER: AN HOUR LATER

Noah and Jack return with the beer.

PETER
Well, well, well. That’s the spirit.

JACK
If there’s anything we can pay you back on, we’ll do it.

Peter then nods.

Next week on Writer’s Block, ideas are coming to fruition.
