Quantum Leap Canceled by NBC

Quantum Leap is leaping off of NBC's schedule. The sci-fi drama, a reboot of the 1989 Scott Bakula series of the same name, has been canceled after two seasons. It premiered in fall 2022, and posted mediocre retention of The Voice and AGT: Al-Stars, going as low as 0.26. Despite that, it was still given an early renewal, which allowed it to produce its second season early enough to get on the air for fall 2023, making it one of the few scripted originals airing during a season that was rocked by the SAG and WGA strikes. The ratings for the last season, however, were a marked decline from the first season, even as the show moved to an 8 PM slot. By January, it was moved to Tuesdays at 10, where it stabilized at a weak 0.18 that sealed its fate. Raymond Lee, Ernie Hudson, Caitlin Bennett and Mason Alexander Park starred in the series. In some unsurprising news happening at a surprising time, NBC has announced that Quantium Leap will be back for a second season. The series, a reboot of the 1989 series of the same name, is the first new series to receive a pickup for a second season this year. Its performance in its post-Voice slot has been solid, but not enough to make it any sort of massive standout, though that's been enough to make it the #3 new series in what has been a dismal season for new programming. At a 0.37 average, it is the second-lowest-rated of NBC scripted dramas, though it is said to have performed well on Peacock. NBC Orders Additional Episodes of Quantum Leap

Quantum Leap, the sci-fi reboot of the 1989 Scott Bakula series of the same name, has become the first new series of the 2022-23 TV season to secure additional episodes. The series has aired three episodes thus far and has averaged an OK 0.39 in the key 18-49 ratings demographic. That's an improvement on Ordinary Joe's 0.31 average in the slot last season, though it's a bit lower than the 0.41 average of its first three episodes. The pickup is said to be for an additional six episodes, which will bring Quantum Leap's first season to eighteen episodes in total. Raymond Lee, Ernie Hudson, Nanrisa Lee, Caitlin Bassett and Mason Alexander Park lead the cast.

Quantum Leap Reboot Ordered to Series by NBC

NBC has officially become the first network to order a pilot to series for the 2022-23 TV season. The Peacock Network has given a series order to its Quantum Leap reboot pilot, which stars Raymond Lee. The series will be a sequel to the original series, which starred Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell and ran for five seasons from 1989 to 1993. Bakula is not attached to the reboot. Joining Lee in the cast are Ernie Hudson, Caitlin Bassett, Mason Alexander Park and Nanrisa Lee. The pilot is expected for a fall launch, and was NBC's only drama pilot in consideration for a fall 2022 premiere.
