Memory of a Killer Renewed by Fox

Memory of a Killer isn't about to become a distant memory, as Fox has renewed the freshman drama for a second season. The Patrick Dempsey-led series, which airs its first season finale tonight, is an adaptation of the 2003 Belgian film De Zaak Alzheimer, which itself was based on a book off the same name and was also adapted for American audiences in the 2022 film Memory, which starred Liam Neeson. While one of the last Fox scripted series left awaiting news on its fate, the network did seem high on the show, debuting it behind the biggest lead-in they had to offer this season, the NFC Championship game. That lead-in helped the series launch to a 1.35 in the key demo (higher than any other new drama this season), though few of those viewers stuck around, and the show has been in the 0.1 range for much of its run. Despite such a high start, the show averages 0.28 in the day demo, though it's performed decently well on streaming, helping it secure a renewal. Michael Imperioli, Odeya Rush, Richard Harmon, Peter Gadiot, and Daniel David Stewart join Dempsey in leading roles in the series. This is a correct prediction for The TV Ratings Guide.

NBC's St. Denis Medical (0.28, -0.10) and Reggie Dinkins (0.25, -0.07) plummeted, while The Voice (0.23, -0.02) had a more subtle drop. Memory of a Killer (0.15, +0.01) inched up on Fox, even as its Extracted lead-in (0.21, -0.03) slipped. But despite the comedy gains, The Voice (0.25, -0.02) declined at nine. American Idol (0.41, +0.05) was up on ABC, but The Rookie (0.22, -0.01) ticked down. The Neighborhood (0.42, +0.01) and DMV (0.27, +0.02) were on the rise on CBS, but CIA (0.19, -0.03) shed some of last week's rating. FBI (0.35, 0.00) was steady at nine.
