Ratings Analysis: Christmas specials Prep & Landing (0.19) and Prep & Landing: Naughty vs. Nice (0.16) were down noticeably from 2023 on ABC, but Olaf's Frozen Adventure (0.28) actually improved on last year's showings. The Alphabet Network also aired the 2014 special Toy Story That Time Forgot (0.25) and a rerun of America's Funniest Home Videos: Wreck the Halls (0.16). FBI (0.37, -0.05), FBI: International (0.31, -0.05), and FBI: Most Wanted (0.27, -0.05) all slipped on CBS. On NBC, The Voice (0.43, +0.10) was up by a full tenth for its finale. On Fox, the premiere of LEGO Masters: Celebrity Holiday Bricktacular (0.18) barely fended off the CW's WWE NXT (0.17, +0.04). Key: (P) = premiere. (R) = repeat. (F) = finale.

Sunday TV Ratings 10/22/23: The Great Halloween Fright Fight Weak for ABC, Krapopolis and Family Guy Hit New Lows, Big Brother Jumps from Last Sunday (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: ABC foolishly placed 'The Great Halloween Fright Fight' (0.14) in the 10 p.m. time slot and got the type of performance that is to be expected when family programming airs at such a late hour. The alphabet network kept up with the Halloween theme by also airing 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' (0.29) and 'Toy Story of Terror!' (0.17). However, all three lost to the 7 p.m. rerun of 'AFV' (0.33). Fox had a rough night as well as 'The Simpsons' (0.30, -0.09), 'Bob's Burgers' (0.23, -0.07), and 'Family Guy' (0.24, -0.02) all slipped to new season lows. In the case of 'Family Guy', this rating also doubles as a new series low. 'Krapopolis' (0.18, -0.09) also crashed to a series low and stuck out like a sore thumb in the 8:30 p.m. time slot. In the 7 p.m. hour, a repeat of 'LEGO Masters' (0.33) clearly had some NFL help baked into it. On CBS, the 'NFL Overrun' (5.93) boosted '60 Minutes' (1.03, +0.51), 'Yellowstone' (0.37), and 'Big Brother' (0.44, +0.08). The 'Dolphins v. Eagles' game on NBC (5.86) was over a full point higher than the week-ago 'Giants v. Bills' (4.57). 'The Chosen' (0.03, -0.01) ticked down on the CW and was followed by encores of 'World's Funniest Animals' (0.03/0.03).

Finals Update: 'NFL Overrun' (+1.9), '60 Minutes' (+0.1), 'Yellowstone' (+0.1), and 'NFL: Dolphins v. Eagles' (+1.3) adjusted up. The repeat of 'LEGO Masters' (-0.1) and 'Football Night in America' (-0.6) adjusted down.

Sunday TV Ratings 10/30/22: Bob’s Burgers, The Great North and Family Guy Hit New Highs with Halloween Episodes, The Simpsons Also Rises for Treehouse of Horror, Celebrity Jeopardy Slides, East New York Rises in Special Timeslot (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: The NFL overrun (6.46/3.02) was prevalent on Fox for another week and helped 'The Simpsons' (1.29, +0.15) grow significantly for its annual Treehouse of Horror episode. 'The Great North' (0.68, +0.08) also climbed to its highest rating since the premiere. In the 9PM hour, 'Bob's Burgers' (0.59, +0.10) and 'Family Guy' (0.53, +0.11) were boosted to new season highs for their respective Halloween-themed installments. On ABC, 'Toy Story of Terror!' (0.26) and a rerun of 'The Conners' (0.14) completely underwhelmed in the 7PM hour. That caused 'Celebrity Jeopardy!' (0.34, -0.13) to crash to a new series low and also had a negative effect on 'Celebrity Wheel of Fortune' (0.34, -0.04) and 'The Rookie' (0.28, -0.07). CBS's 'East New York' (0.49, +0.12) got to air directly behind '60 Minutes' (0.68, +0.07) and surged as a result. 'NCIS: Los Angeles' (0.45, +0.11) climbed to a new season high at 9 and led into a rerun of 'Fire Country' (0.23). The 'Packers v. Bills' NFL game (5.36) was nearly a full ratings point higher than last week's 'Steelers v. Dolphins' matchup (4.38) on NBC. The CW's 'Family Law' (0.05, +0.02) picked up two-hundredths while 'Coroner' (0.02, -0.01) ticked down.

Finals Update: 'NFL Overrun' (+3.7), 'The OT' (+0.8), 'The Simpsons' (+0.1), '60 Minutes' (+0.1), 'Toy Story of Terror' (+0.1), and 'NFL: Packers v. Bills' (+1.2) adjusted up. 'Football Night In America' (-0.7) adjusted down.

Thursday TV Ratings 10/28/21: Toy Story of Terror! and Toy Story 4 Modest on ABC, Young Sheldon and United States of Al Rise, The Blacklist Dips (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: CBS's comedy block made notable gains throughout the evening, with 'Young Sheldon' (0.71, +0.08) and 'United States of Al' (0.53, +0.09) each climbing by nearly a full tenth.  'Ghosts' (0.57, +0.04) and 'B Positive' (0.43, +0.03) rose by a few hundredths in the 9pm hour, and drama 'Bull' (0.31) made no movement in either direction at 10. The news was no as bright on NBC as 'The Blacklist' (0.30, -0.09) dropped by a tenth from last week's lackluster return. A rerun of 'Law & Order: SVU' (0.26) capped off a disappointing night for the peacock network. Fox won big with its 'Packers v. Cardinals' NFL broadcast (5.59), the telecast blew the week-ago 'Broncos v. Browns' game (3.72) out of the water. ABC's showing of Halloween special 'Toy Story of Terror!' (0.41) went close to 60% below the 1.0 it garnered the last time it aired over two years ago (10/22/19). Afterwards, the broadcast debut of the 2019 sequel 'Toy Story 4' (0.35) was met with little fanfare and more than half that audience had departed by the time the 10:30pm encore of 'The Wonder Years' (0.17) rolled around. Over on the CW, 'Walker' (0.11) returned from a hiatus that lasted more than two months and shed a hundredth from its last showing. 'Legacies' (0.07) was down by two-hundredths from the week prior.

Finals Update: 'Ghosts' (+0.1) and 'Toy Story 4' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Thursday TV Ratings 11/26/20: The Masked Singer & I Can See Your Voice Soar to Season Highs, National Dog Show Solid (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: With the 'Cowboys v Washington' NFL game leading into it, Fox's 'The Masked Singer' (3.0) and 'I Can See Your Voice' (1.6) were both catapulted to new season highs. This is the highest-rated episode of 'Masked Singer' since the post-Super Bowl installment and a brand-new series high for 'I Can See Your Voice'. NBC's annual broadcast of 'The National Dog Show' (0.6) was a tenth above last year (0.5), the canine showcase led into a repeat of 'The Wall' (0.4). ABC went with 'Frozen' and 'Toy Story' holiday specials (0.4/0.4) and 'Wonderful World of Disney' (0.5). The specials were each down two-tenths from 2019 when they posted matching 0.6s. CBS had repeats of 'Young Sheldon' (0.4/0.3),'B Positive' (0.3/0.3), and a steady 'Star Trek: Discovery' (0.2). The CW aired the final installment of the 2016 'Gilmore Girls' reboot (0.1).

Finals Update: 'The Masked Singer' (+0.5), 'I Can See Your Voice' (+0.2), 'Olaf's Frozen Adventure' (+0.1), 'Toy Story That Time Forgot' (+0.1), and the repeat of the 'National Dog Show' (+0.1) adjusted up.
