Thursday TV Ratings 5/19/22: United States of Al Down for Series Finale, SVU Also Down for Finale, Young Sheldon Finale Leads (UPDATED)


Ratings Analysis: It was series finale night on CBS as sitcoms 'United States of Al' (0.46, -0.04) and 'How We Roll' (0.33, -0.07/0.30, -0.02) aired their final ever episodes on the network. 'Al' was down by four-hundredths for its season two closer as 'Roll' dropped in both half-hours for the last episodes of its one and only season. 'Young Sheldon' (0.66, +0.02) picked up two-hundredths for its season finale and topped the night simultaneously while 'Bull' (0.34) held even for its penultimate outing at 10. Over on ABC, 'Station 19' (0.58, +0.10) and 'Big Sky' (0.25, +0.03) enjoyed healthy gains for their season finales. 'Grey's Anatomy' (0.60, +0.11) experienced the largest rise of the three dramas but will not have its finale until early June. NBC's 'Law & Order' (0.39, -0.04) and 'Law & Order: SVU' (0.59, -0.02) had small declines for their finales, but 'Law & Order: Organized Crime' (0.51, +0.03) was able to rise a bit for its 10PM closer. Fox was up with 'MasterChef Junior' (0.38, +0.03), but 'Welcome to Flatch' (0.15, -0.03/0.12, -0.01) posted yet another new low for its 9:30PM episode. The CW's reruns of 'Walker' (0.05) and 'Legacies' (0.03) were at the same level as last week. 

Finals Update: 'Young Sheldon' (+0.1), 'United States of Al' (+0.1), 'Station 19' (+0.1), 'Grey's Anatomy' (+0.1), and 'Law & Order: SVU' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Thursday TV Ratings 5/12/22: Station 19 and Big Sky Hit New Lows, United States of Al Rises After Cancellation, Young Sheldon Leads (UPDATED)


Ratings Analysis: ABC dramas 'Station 19' (0.48, -0.12), 'Grey's Anatomy' (0.49, -0.16), and 'Big Sky' (0.22, -0.04) all crashed to new series lows, something that has become increasingly common in the past few days. On CBS, 'Young Sheldon' (0.64, +0.02) and recently-canceled 'United States of Al' (0.50, +0.08) rose by two-hundredths and eight-hundredths respectively. 'How We Roll' (0.40/0.32) was noticeably higher than last week (0.27), but the 9:30 episode couldn't even beat out the 10PM edition of 'Bull' (0.34, -0.01). NBC's 'Law & Order' reboot (0.43, +0.05) recovered a good bit, but 9PM drama 'Law & Order: SVU' (0.61, -0.03) and 'Law & Order: Organized Crime' (0.48, -0.08) went in the other direction. On Fox, 'MasterChef Junior' (0.35, -0.03) ticked down to a new low and was followed by a double-pump of 'Welcome To Flatch' (0.18/0.13). The second of those two episodes marked a new low for the already meager 'Flatch'. The CW had repeats of 'Walker' (0.05) and 'Legacies' (0.03).

Thursday TV Ratings 4/28/22: NFL Draft Drops from 2021 but Remains Top Show Overall, How We Roll and MasterChef Junior Fall, Law & Order: SVU Steady (UPDATED)


Ratings Analysis: ABC's broadcast of the '2022 NFL Draft' (0.86) was about 18% lower than last year's showing (1.05) but nonetheless beat out all programs on the other four networks. On CBS, 'Young Sheldon' (0.62, +0.04) and 'United States of AL' (0.42, +0.01) enjoyed some gains as 'How We Roll' (0.35/0.32) dipped by three-hundredths for the second of its two episodes. Canceled drama 'Bull' (0.35, +0.04) picked up four-hundredths at 10. 'Law & Order' (0.45, +0.01) inched up, 'Law & Order: SVU' (0.60) held flat, and 'Law & Order: Organized Crime' (0.48, -0.02) lost two ticks. 'MasterChef Junior' (0.37, -0.04) and 'Call Me Kat' (0.27, -0.02) declined on Fox while 'Welcome to Flatch' (0.16) matched its week-ago outing. 'Walker' (0.07, -0.01) and 'Legacies' (0.05, -0.04) both slipped on the CW.

Finals Update: '2022 NFL Draft' (+0.2) and 'MasterChef Junior' (+0.1) adjusted up.
