Welcome to First Week Peak, a column which discusses shows that are about to premiere on Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Paramount+, HBO Max, Peacock, Hulu, and/or Apple TV. Each discussion concludes with a prediction for the show's weekly peak performance on their respective streaming service's U.S. trending chart, including a reader poll. East of Eden
There is one upcoming series premiere this week: Netflix's miniseries East of Eden, an adaptation on the John Steinbeck novel. The series already holds a 9.3 Attention Score, and will be the only new series or season to premiere on Netflix next week. With Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story knocked off its perch at the top of Netflix's Top 10 TV shows chart, the path is clear for East of Eden to capitalize on this and reach #1.
Adventure Time: Side Quests
The first season of Adventure Time: Side Quests did manage a #1 daily peak on Hulu earlier in the summer, but it only spent four days total on the chart. While its Attention Score was always low (it was only a 2.5 two days after its series premiere), its 0.6 currently-held score is an ominous sign for its future. This will also likely have more trouble now that FOX's shows are returning into the mix. While a chart appearance is still possible, a #1 peak seems far less attainable than it did for its series premiere.
Sacrifice
Paramount+'s latest BET+ import is Sacrifice, which hasn't aired since 2021. Its renewal for its upcoming second season was announced back in July 2022 via an Instagram post. This is more than likely going to drop rather silently as the platform prepares for CBS's fall 2026 season.
Marshals and Tracker
Ever since Marshals joined Tracker on CBS's Sunday night lineup, the latter has had trouble reaching #1 on Paramount+. This week will likely be no different, with the two shows returning back-to-back and Marshals edging out Tracker's Attention Score, 2.5 to 1.9. The main threat blocking Marshals and Tracker from #1 and #2 is the Paramount+ original Lioness, which concluded its third season this past week and dominated the top of the chart most of its run. Paramount will likely do all they can to make sure this does not happen.
Survivor and The Amazing Race
Outside of 60 Minutes, CBS's first premieres of the 2026-27 TV season will be the Wednesday night pairing of Survivor and The Amazing Race. Since CBS's full scripted slate has not returned yet, there's a chance The Amazing Race can sneak into the Top 10 for its premiere. However, it's not something that should be counted on, given it failed to chart all of last season. Survivor, meanwhile, has consistently peaked at #1, and should have no trouble doing so this week either.
Celebrity Wheel of Fortune
Celebrity Wheel of Fortune was occasionally seen on the lower echelons of Hulu's chart in the 2025-26 TV season, but it's not something to be counted on. More likely than not, the season premiere of the celebrity version of the long-running syndicated game show will miss out on Hulu's Top 15 TV Shows chart entirely.
