First Week Peak: The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins Will Rise Into Peacock’s Top 10

The Ratings Junkie Sunday, November 01, 2026

Welcome to First Week Peak, a column which discusses shows that are about to premiere on Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Paramount+, HBO Max, Peacock, Hulu, and/or Apple TV. Each discussion concludes with a prediction for the show's weekly peak performance on their respective streaming service's U.S. trending chart, including a reader poll. All Attention Scores come from Television Stats as of October 31, 2026. Final results can be found in our weekly What's Trending On Streaming column. Let us know what you think in the comments!

Streaming Premieres

Netflix premieres another new docuseries this week with Taken: Natalee Holloway. If this performs anything like their other recent docuseries, it will premiere at #1 and dominant the chart for some time. Netflix has become the go-to streamer for the genre, so this failing to reach #1 would be the exception, not the rule.

The streamer will also bring back British drama Black Doves, which aired its six-episode first season/series in 2024 to immense success. The long wait time and competition from a brand new docuseries risks this being blocked from #1, at least in the United States. It should still perform well enough for a renewal.

Netflix's third premiere of the week is the anime series Bass X Machina, which will likely serve a more niche audience. Its fate could go either way, but Netflix has expressed a desire recently to cut back on the number of original programs in their lineup.

Elsewhere, Apple TV's golf comedy Stick will return for its second season this coming week. It's already made pretty consistent appearances in their top 10 chart, which is a strong signal it will perform well upon its return. It also holds a 3.8 Attention Score, and could plausibly rival its 15.2 peak when it returns. While Apple TV has next to no catalog to compete with the other streaming services for total market share, their original series have clearly become competitive.

Hulu's All's Fair will return for its second season next week, and holds a much weaker 1.5 Attention Score. It's gone as high as a 19.9 before, but even then would have to compete with ABC's scripted lineup, Swipe Right on the Deal, Reasonable Doubt, TheDrop: A Snowfall Saga, and The Kardashians for the top spot. A renewal can be eked out, but a #1 debut is less likely.

Prime Video will premiere the miniseries The Greatest, which holds a 1.5 Attention Score. It has an uphill battle to #1 given the continued dominance of The Terminal List, with Carrie holding consistently at #2.

Broadcast Premieres

ABC's R.J. Decker may be done for the season (series?), but that doesn't mean NBC has premiered its full fall slate yet. Indeed, Monday comedies St. Denis Medical and The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins will return for their third and second seasons this coming week, respectively. Neither are particularly strong players on Peacock's Top 10 chart, which sees NBC's offerings compete with Bravo programming. However, The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins' Attention Score has crept up recently and both Friday comedies charted well, so there's reason to believe St. Denis Medical and The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins can both make chart appearances this coming week.

First Week Peak: The One About Matthew Perry to be The One to Peak at #1

The Ratings Junkie Sunday, October 25, 2026

Welcome to First Week Peak, a column which discusses shows that are about to premiere on Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Paramount+, HBO Max, Peacock, Hulu, and/or Apple TV. Each discussion concludes with a prediction for the show's weekly peak performance on their respective streaming service's U.S. trending chart, including a reader poll. All Attention Scores come from Television Stats as of October 25, 2026. Final results can be found in our weekly What's Trending On Streaming column. Let us know what you think in the comments!

Six shows are premiering on streaming services this coming week, and all of them are series premieres. This includes two Netflix miniseries: the Matthew Perry 3-episode biography The One About Matthew Perry, and the 3-episode true crime docuseries The Fall of El Mayo. The true crime docuseries sub-genre performs extraordinarily well on Netflix, which gives reason to believe The Fall of El Mayo will be sampled upon its premiere. However, it is not expected to surpass The One About Matthew Perry from the top spot, which has the chance to dominate the chart for days.

Outside of miniseries, the most high-profile series premiere is Apple TV's crime drama Nocturne, based on the novels Lazarus and The Sandman. While it would be a tall task to surpass shows like Ted Lasso and Slow Horses on Apple TV's now-competitive chart, its 6.6 Attention Score demonstrates the series is getting early exposure and has the potential to perform well.

Hulu will be premiering a strategy/reality competition series The Mob this coming week. The show hails from the producers of The Traitors, and could turn out as being seen as anything between the next reality phenom and a cheap ripoff. While this would very likely perform well for Peacock, it's less certain for Hulu.

Netflix has two comedies making their series premieres this coming week: Minimum Wage and How to Ruin Diwali: Meet the Parents. Minimum Wage is a Netflix adaptation of an independent YouTube series, and co-stars new Saturday Night Live cast member Grace Reiter. While its short length time and comedy's general underperformance on Netflix make this unlikely to top the chart, it will likely cultivate enough of a cult audience to get renewed. Similar can be said for How to Ruin Diwali: Meet the Parents, which is of South African origin and much more likely to make a chart appearance in South Africa than it is in the United States.
