Stormere Season 2 Episode 1: Nightfall (Season Premiere)

STORMERE

Season 2, Episode 1: "Nightfall" (Season Premiere)

FADE IN:

EXT. KRYSTAL SANDS – BATTLEFIELD – DAWN

Silence. The storm is gone. Only smoke remains.

Crystalline sand stained dark. Broken weapons scattered. Bodies left where they fell.

The place where everything ended. And where everything began.

Soren stands alone. Hunter’s sword in his hand. He hasn’t moved. Not since yesterday.

Behind him, Lyra kneels beside a small pile of stones. Hunter’s grave.

Ariadne stands farther away, staring at the horizon.

No one speaks.

The wind is the only sound.

SMASH TO TITLE: STORMFALL

ACT FOUR – “THE WORLD HE MADE”

EXT. KRYSTAL SANDS – RIDGE – LATER

The group prepares to leave. No discussion. No plan.

Lyra places a final stone on Hunter’s grave. Her hands linger. She doesn’t cry. Not anymore.

Soren turns away first. He starts walking. Doesn’t look back.

Ariadne hesitates… then follows.

Lyra stays one second longer.

Then… She stands.

And leaves him behind.

EXT. DESERT ROAD – DAY

Endless sand. Heat rising from the ground.

The three walk in a straight line. Soren ahead. Always ahead. Lyra and Ariadne behind.

Distance between them. Not physical. Something heavier. Hours pass. No one speaks.

EXT. ABANDONED OUTPOST – AFTERNOON

A small checkpoint along the road.

Rebuilt.

New banners hang from its walls.

Crimson.

The symbol of Nox carved clean into stone.

A group of TRAVELERS stand in line.

Waiting.

Soren doesn’t slow.

Lyra grabs his arm.

LYRA: We should see what’s going on.

Soren pulls away.

SOREN: Not our problem.

Ariadne watches the checkpoint carefully.

ARIADNE: You’re right... but it doesn’t cost anything if we just check it out.

They approach.

A guard steps forward.

Calm. Polite.

Too calm.

GUARD: State your destination.

Soren stares at him.

SOREN: We’re just passing through.

The guard smiles.

GUARD: Of course.

He gestures to a ledger.

GUARD (CONT’D): We only need your identification. For order, of course.

Lyra glances at the book.

Pages filled with neat writing.

Controlled.

Tracked.

LYRA: Since when?

GUARD: Since peace was established.

A beat.

Soren steps closer.

SOREN: And if we don’t give you our identification?

The guard doesn’t react.

Doesn’t threaten.

Doesn’t raise his voice.

GUARD: Then we must assume you have something to hide.

Silence.

Ariadne feels it.

The weight of the system.

Soren takes the quill.

Writes: SOREN THORNE

He pushes the book back.

SOREN: There.

The guard nods.

GUARD: Welcome to the new world.

That line lingers.

They walk past.

Lyra looks back.

The next traveler steps forward.

Repeats the same motion.

Like a ritual.

EXT. ROAD – LATER

They walk again.

Faster now.

Like they want distance from that place.

Lyra breaks first.

LYRA: This isn’t peace. Nox created something… dark.

No answer.

LYRA (CONT’D): This is control.

Still nothing.

She looks at Soren.

LYRA (CONT’D): Say something.

Soren keeps walking.

SOREN: What do you want me to say?

LYRA: Anything.

Soren stops.

Turns.

His eyes are empty.

SOREN: He won.

His voice almost breaks. But he forces it down.

A beat.

SOREN (CONT’D): That’s it. That’s the whole story.

He turns back.

Keeps walking.

Lyra clenches her jaw.

Ariadne looks between them.

EXT. HILLSIDE CAMP – NIGHT

A small fire.

Barely burning.

They sit around it.

Far apart.

No food.

No conversation.

Just silence.

Lyra stares into the fire.

Ariadne watches the sky.

Soren doesn’t sit.

He paces.

Back and forth.

Back and forth.

Like he can’t stop moving.

Finally…

ARIADNE: The stars… are so overwhelmed. Something isn’t right.

Soren stops.

Lyra looks up.

LYRA: What do you mean?

Ariadne shakes her head.

ARIADNE: They’re there… but they feel distant. Like something is… overwhelming them.

She looks up again.

ARIADNE (CONT’D): It’s like the magic shifted… and they’re carrying more than they should.

Soren laughs.

Short. Bitter.

SOREN: That makes no sense.

They look at him.

SOREN (CONT’D): But again... not our problem.

Silence.

SOREN (CONT’D): I know where we’re going… we’re going home. I need to see if it’s still there.

They look at him. A beat. Lyra nods first. Ariadne follows.
