Summer is beginning to wind down, with roughly a month to go until the regular TV season kicks off once again. That doesn't mean there aren't still predictions to change, as one show moves into the red this week, while I discuss another that has flown under my radar this summer.

The Quiz with Balls: I haven't discussed Fox's sophomore game show too often this summer, because its ratings have been fairly boring. It's been pretty much rock-steady in the 0.2 rating, with a 0.16 standing out as its worst datapoint. Most episodes have been closer to the 0.2 mark, and last week's episode hit a season high 0.23, despite airing after a repeat (though that repeat rated a bit better than most episodes of regular lead-in LEGO Masters). Fox's ratings have reached such a level that those 0.2s are fairly impressive. Plenty of more expensive scripted shows in the regular season couldn't reach levels that high, including a few that Fox renewed. It's an outright improvement from what Rescue: HI-Surf did in the slot for most of its run, and likely comes in at just a fraction of the cost. It's rating in-line with Gordon Ramsay's shows as well, last week tying MasterChef as Fox's top program of the week. No matter how you shake it, The Quiz with Balls is a summer success for Fox. Fox needs these stable, solid performers that can fill slots in the summer, and I can't imagine they let this show go. Though it was renewed before the season even began, its lead-in, LEGO Masters, performed worse than The Quiz has all season. If that show is back and getting another spinoff, The Quiz with Balls should be just fine. It's still a LIKELY RENEWAL, but it has only improved its position since I initially placed it in that category ten weeks ago.

Press Your Luck: I've already downgraded this long-running ABC game show once before, and it's finishing its run with another downgrade. I've already touched on how it's been over a year since it was last in production, but I didn't feel that was enough to doom its renewal odds. Its soft ratings were also still decent enough to still predict a renewal for it, given the ratings of ABC's other series. I still wouldn't be shocked if ABC renewed it. However, what's spurring a downgrade to a cancellation prediction is that ABC has pulled all scheduled Thursday night repeats of the show, with The $100,000 Pyramid now set to air repeats on the weeks Press Your Luck was scheduled. A large part of why I kept it as a renewal prediction in spite of having several factors working against it was because ABC had those repeats scheduled. With them removing them from the schedule and replacing them with a different game show, I can't help but wonder if they're giving up. Other ABC game shows have miraculously come back after disappearing for several years, so Press Your Luck isn't gone for good, even if it does disappear for a bit. But at this stage, I'm betting against a renewal. It LEANS CANCELLATION.

What do you think of my predictions? What are your predictions? Let me know in the comments and vote in the poll of the week!
