Questions of the Week: Affiliates, The Big Bang Theory, CBS

1. With linear ratings declining, many affiliates want to take over the 10 pm hour from broadcast networks. They argue their local news programming would bring in higher ratings than those generated by the networks. This would also likely push the late night shows up an hour. These affiliates view the broadcast networks as using the 10 pm hour solely as a way to build up catalog for their respective streaming services, disregarding linear ratings. Do you think the networks should hand over the 10 pm hour to the affiliates?

2. Warner Bros. Discovery has shared more details of Max’s potential spinoff of The Big Bang Theory. Kevin Sussman, Brian Posehn, and Lauren Lapkus, have signed on to star in the series that is speculated to revolve around Sussman’s Stuart and his comic book shop. Do you think Max will order their new Big Bang Theory spinoff to series?

3. CBS is finally starting to premiere their fall scripted series this week and next week. Their schedule so far looked a lot like their summer schedule, with Big Brother airing into October. Do you think CBS should have delayed their fall premieres?
