Wednesday TV Ratings 10/14/20: Billboard Music Awards Collapse, The Amazing Race Returns Decently, The Con Starts Low Behind Coco (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: The 2020 Billboard Music Awards made its way onto the airwaves in disastrous fashion. Posting a 0.8 A18-49 rating, the ceremony was down a mammoth 62% from the sturdy 2.1 rating it managed in May 2019. NBC might have expected to win the night with this broadcast but ended up falling behind both CBS and Fox in the 8pm hour. Over on Fox, 'The Masked Singer' (1.6) doubled 'Billboard' and rose a tenth from last week. Lead-out 'I Can See Your Voice' (1.0) returned after taking last week off, down two-tenths from its previous episode.

CBS housed a steady 'Big Brother' (1.0), the season premiere of 'The Amazing Race' (0.7), and a repeat of 'SWAT' (0.3). 'Amazing Race' fell five-tenths from last season's debut in April 2019 (1.2). ABC aired the 2017 Pixar film 'Coco' (0.5) and the anemic series premiere of 'The Con' (0.3). The CW had stable showings of 'Devils' (0.1) and 'Coroner' (0.1).

Finals Update: 'The Masked Singer' (1.7, +0.1) and 'I Can See Your Voice' (1.1, +0.1) adjusted up.
