Please note that last year's numbers are taken from the whole hour statistics, not the half-hours.
Last night was a bad night for ratings overall; except maybe for CBS and FOX. The latter still hit high with American Idol, even if it was down 0.1, while CBS benefited from the return of The Big Bang Theory after two weeks of reruns. Returning down 0.1, it still positively affected the rest of the lineup, Life in Pieces gaining three tenths and Mom one. Angel from Hell stayed stable with a 1.4 and Elementary was too with a 1.1, even though more stable across the hour.
The saddest network this morning has got to be NBC. Its new series You, Me And the Apocalypse is already fractionnal in its second week only, hitting a 0.8 in its last half-hour (and a 0.9 overall)! Definitely, Rob Lowe has no chance of surviving this year even when starring in two shows! The rest of the line-up isn't good either, except for The Blacklist, only down a tenth to 1.5. But where it hurts is with Shades of Blue, that was stable for a couple of weeks at an acceptable 1.4. It's now down to a 1.1 after 5 weeks, and with everything NBC already has for next year (Football on Sundays and Thursdays, the 4 Dick Wolf shows, Blindspot, 3 hours of The Voice...), it might just not be enough, especially if it keeps falling.
The CW must be quite sad too, as DC's Legends of Tomorrow, their supposed new hit show, is already fractionnal in its third week, hitting a 0.9, down two tenths from last week. It's still higher than most of their shows, but it's still early in the series too... But CW shows are well known to be quite stable so it may actually have found its footing and could stay around this number untill the end of the season. Despite this drop, The 100 stayed stable with a 0.6, proving that its lead-in does little to improve it and that, in its third season, it can perform well on its own.
ABC aired the final episode of their two-parts two-hour episodes mini-series Madoff, scoring two tenths lower than the first episode aired yesterday at the same hour. They also aired a special around the same theme at 10 that got more viewers than the mini-series, with an acceptable 1.2.
