Please note that last year's numbers are taken from the whole hour statistics, not the half-hours.
After last week's Grammys and with a lot of finales, the night was generally up from last week. That is except for CBS, that was drastically down from 2 weeks ago. Supergirl is used to roller coaster ratings and is back to its downer side with a 1.5, three tenths down. Scorpion too is only back to usual after scoring very high for four weeks. It now gets a still respectable 1.7, down four tenths. Even stable NCIS: Los Angeles falls three tenths to a 1.3... But, this is the kind of numbers the show was getting in the beginning of the season. So actually, things are just back to normal.
On the other hand, NBC was up for its last week before the return of both The Voice and Blindspot. Therefore comedies Superstore and Telenovela aired their season finales that scored two tenths up from last week, bringing Superstore back to a 1.4 and Telenovela to a 0.9, still not over the 1 mark... The Biggest Loser also got a better number for its finale, bringing it over 1 with a 1.1 in the first hour and a 1.2 in the last.
ABC was up too, The Bachelor by three tenths and Castle by two, recovering from last week atrocious 0.8 in the last half-hour. It still loses two tenths from its first part to its last, but it's much more on par with regular ratings. With the age of the show, though, with such low (even though stable) ratings, would it be time to let it go?
The X-Files finale was up too, but not by much. It grew by two tenths, pushing it to a 2.4. It's still 8 tenths down from the first episode aired on a Monday, but it still held up well considering no show that started really high held this season. Despite this climb, Lucifer stayed pretty much stable with a 1.5. The real test will be next week when it won't have The X-Files as a lead-in.
Nothing new on the CW, where Crazy Ex-Girlfriend still gets a 0.4 and Jane the Virgin a 0.3. Jane the Virgin. If I'm not mistaken, Jane the Virgin is now the lowest-rated show of the CW...
This week raises a few questions:
1- Will CBS Monday go back to their high with Scorpion over 2, or are yesterday nights ratings the new trend?
2- Which comedy will NBC renew? Superstore? Telenovela? Both? Neither?
3- Will ABC cancel Castle (try saying this 10 times fast!) with its low ratings and its advanced age?
4- How will Lucifer hold up next week without The X-Files?
5- If the CW renews one of Monday shows, which one would it be? Closer to syndication Jane the Virgin? Or slightly higher Crazy Ex-Girlfriend?
