Disney+ Renew/Cancel: Star Wars: Visions Is Predicted To Be Renewed

Below is a table of audience demand multipliers as reported by Parrot Analytics for Disney+’s original series. A 1.0 multiplier is the average for all shows past and present, and is updated on a rolling 30-day basis. The numbers seen in this table are as reported on October 11, 2021. Let us know what you think by leaving a reaction and comment!

Star Wars: Visions
Just like fellow Star Wars animated show The Bad Batch, Visions is able to receive high demand from the U.S. audience. It does not have nearly as much international appeal, but coming close to a 20 multiplier while being part of such an iconic franchise that has already brought much success to Disney+ makes it easy to predict this as a renewal.

Turner & Hooch + Doogie Kameäloha, M.D.
Turner & Hooch is a result of Disney’s vast movie catalog, and Doogie Kameãloha, M.D. demonstrates Disney+’s willingness to tap into their TV catalog. Both shows appear to be doing a solid job of bringing in an audience. It would be unsurprising if their respective audiences are different to the audience that gathers for the Star Wars, Marvel, or kids shows. If it is true that it brings in a rather unique audience, it is imaginable to think Disney+ will want to bring them back. Doogie in particular would look like a disappointment if it was part of a larger franchise.

Diary of a Future President
After a nearly 17 month long hiatus, Diary of a Future President returned in August. Disney+ released all 10 episodes at once, and you’d be forgiven if you didn’t realize the show had returned. It is the only scripted show on Disney+ that Disney does not co-produce, and is also the only scripted show that Disney does not fully distribute (given the name, it’s almost certain Disney Platform Distribution has a hand in Chip ‘n’ Dale: Park Life). Its U.S. audience demand multiplier is toward the bottom of the chart, and pales in comparison to the likes of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. At least it’s risen from the 0.6 multiplier it had early on in 2021, but it’s not far fetched to assume it’ll return to that level the farther into the past the Season 2 release is. Unless CBS Media Ventures cuts a lucrative deal with Disney, the odds are stacked against Diary of a Future President’s future on Disney+. Perhaps it could find a new home on Paramount+.

Chip ‘n’ Dale: Park Life
If Chip ‘n’ Dale: Park Life’s audience demand multiplier teaches us anything, it’s that Chip ‘n’ Dale are not nearly as popular as the Monsters Inc. franchise. Right now, I’m leaning towards Disney+ giving it a second chance given its tie-ins to the iconic Disney cartoon brand, but a cancelation would hardly be a shock. It’s certainly a show to watch closely.
