Why is The Mick A Likely Renewal?
The Mick premiered extraordinarily well, to a 2.8 A18-49 demo rating out of a 3.5 for The OT, making its premiere way stronger than that of Son of Zorn. Combine this with the respectable 1.3 A18-49 rating that it got for its time slot premiere and The Mick is projected to be an average-rated show for FOX in the A18-49 demo. More will be known when the first sub-demos are released, but for now it appears that The Mick will be one of FOX's stronger comedy options.
Why is Star a Likely Renewal?
Star is FOX's attempt to keep Empire's time slot warm with another urban Lee Daniels music-based drama. So far, it's doing its job, and if it settles around the territory it's at now then it should be a solid player for FOX, and one of their higher-rated dramas. It also appears to do well with W18-34, which is always a good sign, and should stay around at least another season to keep Empire's time slot warm.
