The Neighborhood Spinoff Ordered by Paramount+

CBS' Neighborhood is expanding. Their parent company's streamer, Paramount+, has ordered a spinoff of CBS' Monday night comedy The Neighborhood to series. Titled Crutch, the series will focus on a Harlem widower, played by Tracy Morgan, whose millennial son and free-spirited daughter move home with him, disrupting his plans for a peaceful life by himself. The character will be a cousin of Calvin Butler, the character played by Cedric The Entertainer on The Neighborhood. Morgan had previously guest starred as a different relative of Calvin's, his brother, in the fourth season of The Neighborhood. That character was said to be the basis of spinoff talks, though those plans later fell through. With Young Sheldon ending next week, The Neighborhood will become CBS's longest-running comedy, and is one of the rare comedies fully owned by CBS to last this long in recent years. No further casting has been announced for the series.
