Lopez vs Lopez Renewed by NBC, Reba Sitcom Happy’s Place Ordered to Series

Just a week after its second season wrapped, NBC has ordered a third season of sitcom Lopez vs Lopez. The sitcom, which aired doubled-up episodes over five weeks this spring, was NBC's lowest-rated of their three sitcoms, with a 0.25 average. It's the lowest-rated NBC scripted show to return next season, as La Brea and Quantum Leap were both canceled earlier this year. The series was George Lopez's return to TV, his fourth self-title sitcom in which he played a fictionalized version of himself. This show saw Lopez joined by his daughter, Mayan, in a co-starring role, with Matt Shively, Selenis Leyva and Al Madrigal also starring.

In addition to this renewal, NBC has also ordered a new sitcom to series - Happy's Place, starring The Voice coach and country music legend Reba McEntire. McEntire will reunite with Reba co-star Melissa Peterman in the series, with Rex Linn, Belissa Escobedo, Pablo Castelblanco and Tokala Black Elk also joining them. Happy's Place will see Reba playing a woman who inherits her late father's restaurant, only to discover that she has a co-owner: her previously-unknown half-sister. Included in the production staff are multiple producers of the early 2000s Reba sitcom.
