Family Guy: In its second episode during the fall 2022 season, 'Family Guy' posted a 0.39 rating in the Adults 18-49 demographic and outpaced both its 'Bob's Burgers' lead-in (0.37) and 8:30 p.m. occupant 'The Great North' (0.35). For a program tossed into the undesirable 9:30 p.m. time slot, this is an impressive feat that should signal to the network that it deserves to air in better conditions. Fast-forward to fall 2023 and the second episode of the season managed just a 0.26 rating, below both 'Bob's Burgers' (0.30) and new 8:30 p.m. resident 'Krapopolis' (0.27). These are technically still fine numbers for 'Family Guy', but it is concerning that the series can no longer build on 'Bob's' or even beat out what Fox decides to plug in behind 'The Simpsons'. 'Family Guy' is Renewed through 2025 and clearly in no real danger, but it is worth observing how it performs to see if this is just a fluke or if it is genuinely becoming a weak link in the lineup.
Krapopolis: On its first night without NFL help, 'Krapopolis' put up a passable 0.27 rating and retained just about 70% of its 'Simpsons' lead-in (0.39). This is almost identical to the performance of 'The Great North' and shows that 'Krap' may not be a complete dud after all. Though this rating is nothing worth heaping praise over, the Dan Harmon creation has blended in decently enough with the Sunday lineup. 'Krapopolis' may not have deserved to be Renewed for three seasons, but it has not done poorly enough to be a clear eyesore...for now.
Snake Oil: After debuting with a serviceable 0.39 rating, 'Snake Oil' seems to have fallen off a cliff. The game show crashed to a feeble 0.23 rating for its third episode and dropped by a full tenth when compared to episode two. Though its 'Masked Singer' lead-in also took a similar hit, this is still very troubling for 'Snake Oil'. The program may be Likely to be Renewed at this point in time but another decline of this size might change that.
Special Forces: 'Special Forces: World's Toughest Test' is another series on Fox that can't seem to stop its slide. The show went from a 0.33 to a 0.27 and has now fallen to a 0.24 in week three. The program's lead-in, 'Kitchen Nightmares', has followed a similar trend (0.35 -> 0.29 -> 0.28), but its dip this week was less severe, and it is performing better overall. 'Special Forces' is definitely in better shape than 'Snake Oil' and remains Likely to be Renewed, but needs to bounce back to solidify its status.
