Ratings Analysis: CBS's 'Young Sheldon' (0.51) began season six with a new series low and declined by almost 30% from last year's return (0.70). At 8:30, 'Ghosts' (0.55) began season two by growing from 'Sheldon' and topping the evening altogether. This rating was just a single hundredth below its series premiere from 2021 (0.56) and proves that the sophomore sitcom has plenty of life in it. But the good will from 'Ghosts' did not translate into ratings magic at 9 as 'So Help Me Todd' (0.37) lost over 30% of its lead-in and only managed to place third in its hour. At 10, 'CSI: Vegas' (0.27) dropped down to a new low for its first episode of its second season. It was a bit of a bloodbath on NBC as 'Law & Order' (0.49, -0.11), 'Law & Order: SVU' (0.53, -0.16), and 'Law & Order: Organized Crime' (0.49, -0.13) all lost large chunks of their premiere ratings from the crossover event that took place a week prior. Fox's 'Hell's Kitchen' (0.39) premiered with a new series low, and the season two premiere of 'Welcome To Flatch' (0.18) shed over 50% of that already modest rating. 'Call Me Kat' (0.20) did its best to build from 'Flatch' at 9:30 but was unable to get very far. On ABC, 'Celebrity Wheel of Fortune' (0.48, +0.01) grew by a hundredth and led into a solid showing of 90's Halloween film 'Hocus Pocus' (0.42). The CW had the 1-hour finale of 'Bump' (0.05/0.04) and the 'Great Chocolate Showdown' (0.04, -0.01).
