Another CBS series is confirmed to be returning next season, as the Tiffany Network has announced the renewal of veteran police procedural SWAT for a sixth season. While the show seemed to be a bit of an afterthought for CBS this season, being thrown to undesirable Friday and Sunday time slots, it has persevered, climbing 11% from its fourth season 18-49 ratings average. With a 0.47 average for this season, it rates towards the middle of the CBS drama lineup, outpacing four fellow 10 PM drama and the 9 PM Friday drama, Magnum PI. Shemar Moore leads the cast, alongside Alex Russell, Lina Esco, Kenny Johnson and Jay Harrington.
